No reservations at all? Am I doing something wrong?

I wanted to make dining reservations for our trip in December for our group of 8 people, but every day and restaurant I check says it has no availability. Is this normal? Is it the size of our group? I thought it would be ok since we are over 6 months out.

Thanks!

When in December are you going? You are probably just a few days shy of the 180 maybe?

Not completely unexpected I think. Part of it is during free dining which really doesn't help. I booked my Nov trip on my 180 days and didn't get 2 things I wanted out of 7. Checked the next day and nothing I booked the first day was available. Have been trying to check to see if I could get better times or switch dates, managed to change 2 so far.

However I think ADRs are easier to get closer to the date since plans finalize and the backup ADRs people make are cancelled, or trips are cancelled entirely. Check the next few days at the places you want, see if you can get anything to see if this is true, it often is.

Our trip is Dec 2nd-8th, I have tried several restaurants for any lunch or dinner times on few different occasions and haven't found a single open reservation yet. I tried the 1st time when we were just after 180 days. I am nervous seating for 8 anywhere without a reservation will be impossible. Thanks for the comments!

How flexible are you being? Searching 12/2 and 12/3 for eight people at 6:30, I got a wide variety of options within a 1.5 hour window in each direction. Searching at noon on 12/3 and 12/4 I got another wide selection in a range of times, incding Boma at 10:05 both days, and Biergarten at 12:05.

There were six of us last December and very early on the FIRST DAY of being able to make a reservation for Candlelight Processional Dinner Package I could not get an ADR for six at ChefdeFrance. I instead made a 2 separate ADR's, one for four, other for 2. We arrived about 20 minutes before our ADR and the VERY NICE CM:thumbsup2 sat us at a table for 6.
I would try splitting your party if that is agreeable to all of you. Worst case scenario, hopefully, your 2 tables would be next to each other! GOOD LUCK!:wizard:

Call the 407 number. You can talk to a planner who can look throughout the entire days reservations and find you something. For a party of eight you want to plan ahead. Also, when you arrive, meet with the hotels concierge (if you are staying at a Disney property) who will be able to find you reservations. I have never had trouble changing reservations with our concierge.
