No Narcoossee's on Thanksgiving?

Morning all-- I just booked my reservations for my November trip, and I have a question. Narcoossee's was supposed to be my Thanksgiving dinner backup (no luck with 'Ohana...), but when I pull up the calendar, Thanksgiving day is not "lit up" like the other days surrounding it. Any idea why? Thanks!

Edited to add: Hmm... just tried Jiko, and same deal. Are the signature restaurants available to book now or do I need to wait?

Edited again: And now I'm trying for Grand Floridian Cafe and The Wave, and breakfast is the only meal shown available on Thanksgiving?!? Am I going crazy???

Nope. Most of us are having the same issues. Evidently, Disney hasn't released a lot of times at these restaurants for Thanksgiving Day. My dh asked to go to WDW and have Thanksgiving dinner with Mickey. He had a great time years ago at Chef Mickey's, so wants to do it again. He never asks to go to WDW!!! But, can I get it? Nope. Nothing is open for dinner there. So, I've 'settled' for Artist Point. And will keep trying.

You should call. California Grill was grayed out for Thanksgiving on line. Tusker House was also unavailable online. I called and got both over the phone, one lunch and one dinner.

Edited to add: Was able to book California Grill on the phone- not precisely what I wanted, but I'll keep trying for 'Ohana or Narcoossee's, and if those don't work out, we love CG!

I am still trying for my #1 Thanksgiving pick. Grayed out online and when I called the latest I could get was 4pm. Of course the CMs on the phone couldn't understand why I couldn't book online, "Are you sure?", "I can see it so you should be able to", "No, we aren't having any computer issues", etc. After waiting 40+ minutes on hold each time, giving the machine all my information, waiting for the machine to tell me to hold while "she" got someone, getting the CM on the phone and repeating all my information, was not in the mood. I understand they aren't responsible and were trying to be helpful so didn't lose it. I just politely thanked them for their advice. LOL.

Anyway, my new theory is to try tomorrow at 6am (again) since it is 180 to 11/24. We'll see.

Can't wait for the 60 FP+ dance in a few months!

That's my thought too, that they're holding back the signature restaurants until exactly 180 days out from Thanksgiving. The thing that keeps me from being convinced is that I was able to call and book California Grill for Thanksgiving, and why would I be able to do that if they're holding the others back?

Anyway, my new theory is to try tomorrow at 6am (again) since it is 180 to 11/24. We'll see.

Agreed. I haven't seen these quirks before in other years booking for the same time. I have seen Thanksgiving times and the Friday after Thanksgiving times @ EPCOT (1st CP night) being held back, but when it was released it was released for both online and phone reservations.

Now though it seems like you can book things by calling that aren't available on the website.

I have been at the reservation game for a good number of days now and I can honestly say I am tired!
If it wasn't for planning for the group of people coming with us I would really consider calling it a day. I am not trying to come across as a martyr and I really love the planning, but when the systems work against you it is challenging. Look, my (large extended family) group will have a good time no matter what, but Disney when I am trying to play by your rules, can you please do the same??

Well, so much for THAT theory! Narcoossee's still isn't available online, and neither are any other signature restaurants that I checked. I'll try again tomorrow, I guess... Oh, here's a odd twist: the reservation I made by phone for California Grill doesn't show up with the rest of my reservations-- I get the message "We're sorry. We encountered a problem retrieving one or more of your dining reservations. Please try again later." But when I check by confirmation number, it shows up. I wonder if I wasn't supposed to get that reservation yet, so it's still "unofficial" until those others go live (whenever THAT is...)?

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time, 5DisneyNuts- I at least only had a couple reservations that were important to me, so this weirdness is really my only issue. Good luck!

Most of the EPCOT and HS restaurants were grayed out or have really odd availability for Thanksgiving day, so I sucked it up and sat on the phone for 45 mins. Once I go through there were TONS of time available. Not sure why they aren't showing online and CM didn't see to know either.

Now however I am getting the same error message that says they can't retrieve the reservation, but I see when when I type in the confirmation number so I will assume all is fine.

Thank you all for this thread, otherwise I probably would have just been pissed off and not called.

I finally did call to check on Narcoossee's, and unfortunately the only time they had for Thanksgiving was 9PM. I booked it, and I'll continue checking for an earlier time (still gray online, grrrr...), but at least it's a start. Honestly, I still would prefer 'Ohana, which I can at least check online, but I'm not holding my breath on that! Oh Disney, you're like a bad boyfriend that I just can't leave!
