No more converting tb or qs to snacks?

The problem with all this is that Disney changes its policies on a whim, usually without notification, the way they changed the possibility of getting 3 snacks for one QS credit. And even that is not consistent at every restaurant, because there are reports about some places still allowing it, and reports about persons at the same restaurant at the same time of year, with one being allowed and the other being denied. And the answers even when you are on-site at the restaurant can be different each time, depending on who you ask.

TS credits can now be used for a CS meal. No converting needed for that. This went into effect Jan. 1, 2012. The CS to snack conversion was supposedly discontinued at that time. There have been a few reports fro those who have been successful, but they would not let us do it in October at POP. They said they were no longer allowed to do it. I have not seen any reports of anyone having success since early last year, with the exception of the one above.

Same here last August. We were able to get a contential Breakfast the night before we left.

They used to give 3 snacks for a CS credit, but that is no longer allowed. 1 snack for a CS credit is basically just getting the dessert portion of your CS meal, so that is not much of an issue.

Yikes! At least get a bottled drink in addition to the dessert part.

I'm not questioning that you can use TS credits for a CS meal but I'm curious where you read that. I've read in other places (ex. MouseSavers) that in 2013 you can't. I'm interested in knowing because I would do the full dining plan if I could. We'll be at CR for 6 nights in Aug and only have ADR's for three character meals (that's all we want; DS12 and DD8 don't like doing to many TS meals as they take so long).

If only planning 3 TS meals for a 6 night trip, I'd run the numbers. May be cheaper to go OOP.

I am not sure I would buy a dining plan that included table service if the party only wanted three TS meals and the majority of the party are dining adults.

We have always been able to exchange CS or TS credits for snack credits. We've done it every year, staying at ASMo's, Pop, and CR. Last year I read on the Dis that they were no longer allowing it, so I was a little concerned for our Bay Lake Tower trip last Sept., however not only were we able to still convert them for snack credits, the CM's at the Contempo. Cafe were basically advertising it, as almost every time I'd go up to "pay," they'd ask me if I wanted to use snack credits or use a CS meal credit.

I'm hoping and expect the same this year.

ETA: We've always been able to get 3 snacks for 1 CS meal (usually all cookies lol). We did have a problem one time at Pop, when a CM insisted that one of our snacks had to be a drink to exchange it with a CS, but that's the only time we've encountered any issues and that was 4 years ago.

I've never understood the rush to convert at the end of a trip from a meal to snacks. I've put thought into but just wasn't working for us. I find we usually have CS meals left over not TS. On the last morning/afternoon before going to the airport I just use our CS at the resort then eat at the airport before a flight, or during a lay over, or even on the plane. Grab bottled drinks, sandwich and fruit or muffin or magic cookie bar. Those who want to snack have their fruit or muffin or cookie and drink and if they get hungry there's a sandwich. By the time we're home the food is gone, we didn't pick up airport food and everyone has been able to snack eat at their own speed. This trip we will drive and I'm sure I will do the same for the car. Maybe this will help someone look at left over credits a little differently and be helpful to them.

Instead of being willing to convert 1 cs for 1 snack credit grab 1 bottled drink(a traditional 1 snack credit) and 1 dessert( a traditional 1 snack credit) and bonus a salad or sandwich. Hate to waste food but even if you don't eat the salad/sandwich you've still scored to snacks verses trading one for one.
