No longer going in June.

Having extreme Disney withdraw! And busy planning June 2012!! So much to do that has never been done.

We had never gone on a cruise either so we wanted to take a short one to see how we liked it. I'm glad we did the four as opposed to the three because we wanted to experience a day at see to make sure we didn't have any adverse reaction to the motion of the ship. I will say that it's a very different kind of planning because A) your options are limited when it comes to excursions (like in Nausau, you could probably only do one excursion but at Castaway Cay you could probably squeeze in two if you didn't want to spend the day on the beach) and B) there is some planning you can't do until you're on the ship (like you won't know the character M&G schedule or the movie schedule until you're on board). We had a great time and it was a little more relaxing than a park vacation (so many more options for dining, etc). After next year, we're going to consider either taking an Alaskan cruise with Disney or maybe the Mediterranean with Disney. It will depend.

Thanks for the information. Right now, we are wavering between a cruise a just spending extra time in Disney alone for our anniversary. We still have some thinking to do. I can't make up my mind.

I know. We have been many times, but the kids have gone four times and I feel like they are missing some things that are really cool. Hopefully next summer we can get some of those things in and I"m hoping my little one grows a little more. Lol!

Since we had to cancel our June 2011 trip, we are thinking of doing another 2 week extravaganza like we did in June of 2009!!! Still planning though!

We didn't get to take a trip this year but we are booked for 6/9/12 to 6/15/12 at All-Star Movies. My parents are taking the entire family of 21 people to celebrate my dad retiring from working. It also coincides with their 40th wedding anniversary. There is a link to my PTR in my sig.

Haven't booked yet, but we are looking at June 9-16, 2012. Most likely at Fort Wilderness. :cool1:

I added everyone tentatively to the list. When things become more firm, let me know and I will update the information.

Mornin' all -

Looks like we're planning to return to WDW next June instead of July. I was hopin' to join your group here, if you'll have me. We just got back from 7 nights at CSR last week, and I'm already ready to start planning already.......ready. Thought this would be a good group to join to get some info on what weeks to go in June. I haven't been there that early in the summer since the mid '90s.

Cheers,
Indy (Dave)

Absolutely! By all means, you are more than welcome to join us. My family also use to go in July, but changed to June this past year. We preferred going in June this year... It wasn't as crowded, less tour groups. It worked out well for us.

I would like to join this group. We were planning a Aug 2012 trip but due to my husband not be able to take vacation at all during the month of Aug we are going the 2nd week of June 2012. This means we will see Mickey and friends two months earlier!!!! :cool1::thumbsup2

Those who are going in our group are: myself, my dh, my dd, my ds, my fil, my mil and my best friend's daughter.

We have gone in 2009 and 2010 with my mom and my sister and we stayed in my mom's timeshare. This time we are renting a house in Indian Creek!

Welcome and nice to have you along!

thanks :) What's the weather like at WDW in June? We've gone in Jan and Feb so have no idea what to expect with the weather :)

Usually June is hot and humid with always that chance for a park clearing afternoon thunderstorm. Afternoons can be quite warm but with the later park hours, you can afford a break from the mid-day heat. Welcome and Happy Planning!!:)

Hi and welcome to the newbies.:welcome: You will find this thread fun and interesting and Anjalee does a great job keeping up with everybody.
OK back to update. We have narrowed it down to 2 places either Cabins at Ft. Wilderness or the new Art of Animation. For $50-$60 dollars more we can get 2 bathrooms at Art of Animation, so we are leaning towards 2 bathrooms. If anybody has any input on the cabins tho will be greatly appreciated. But with 5 people going this time, will probably go for the 2 bathrooms. I guess you can see I'm really excited about 2 bathrooms!::lmao:

Is it June yet?

I had to wait 8 months last time for Disney, now its been since the day we left! 10 months to go lol

I want it to be June too and we are even going again in September for 5 days. We are surprising the kids with MNSSHP. They have no idea about the trip. After that, I can really concentrate on June.

We have only stayed in the cabins one time, but didn't really like the location. It's close to the MK, but having to take the internal bus to either the front or back of Ft. Wilderness was such a hassle especially with our little ones. Anyway, the cabins were not bad, but with five people and only one bathroom it might be nice to have two bathrooms instead. Also, there is a set of bunk beds and a double bed (queen?) not sure which in the bedroom and then there is a Murphy bed in the living room. We found that it was just really hard to sleep on the Murphy bed. Not the most comfortable thing. It was nice to park out car right out front. After dealing with the buses for two days, we gave up and drove ourselves most places. One night we waited 45 minutes for a bus. The kitchen was nice to have in the cabin. We ate breakfast most mornings in the cabin. The dishwasher, microwave, and fridge were a plus, but if you are not going to eat in your cabin, then it might not matter. Good luck with your decision.
