We had never gone on a cruise either so we wanted to take a short one to see how we liked it. I'm glad we did the four as opposed to the three because we wanted to experience a day at see to make sure we didn't have any adverse reaction to the motion of the ship. I will say that it's a very different kind of planning because A) your options are limited when it comes to excursions (like in Nausau, you could probably only do one excursion but at Castaway Cay you could probably squeeze in two if you didn't want to spend the day on the beach) and B) there is some planning you can't do until you're on the ship (like you won't know the character M&G schedule or the movie schedule until you're on board). We had a great time and it was a little more relaxing than a park vacation (so many more options for dining, etc). After next year, we're going to consider either taking an Alaskan cruise with Disney or maybe the Mediterranean with Disney. It will depend.
Having extreme Disney withdraw! And busy planning June 2012!! So much to do that has never been done.
Haven't booked yet, but we are looking at June 9-16, 2012. Most likely at Fort Wilderness.![]()
Since we had to cancel our June 2011 trip, we are thinking of doing another 2 week extravaganza like we did in June of 2009!!! Still planning though!
We didn't get to take a trip this year but we are booked for 6/9/12 to 6/15/12 at All-Star Movies. My parents are taking the entire family of 21 people to celebrate my dad retiring from working. It also coincides with their 40th wedding anniversary. There is a link to my PTR in my sig.
We also live in south Alabama and our philosophy is we can sweat at home or sweat at Disney!
Mornin' all -
Looks like we're planning to return to WDW next June instead of July. I was hopin' to join your group here, if you'll have me. We just got back from 7 nights at CSR last week, and I'm already ready to start planning already.......ready. Thought this would be a good group to join to get some info on what weeks to go in June. I haven't been there that early in the summer since the mid '90s.
Cheers,
Indy (Dave)
I would like to join this group. We were planning a Aug 2012 trip but due to my husband not be able to take vacation at all during the month of Aug we are going the 2nd week of June 2012. This means we will see Mickey and friends two months earlier!!!!
Those who are going in our group are: myself, my dh, my dd, my ds, my fil, my mil and my best friend's daughter.
We have gone in 2009 and 2010 with my mom and my sister and we stayed in my mom's timeshare. This time we are renting a house in Indian Creek!
Just booked Windsor Hills townhouse for another 2 week extravaganza!! June 9-23, hooray!!
We got WH for the June 13-29!! So howdy neighbor....We love it there!! See you at RD..hehe
Is it June yet?
I had to wait 8 months last time for Disney, now its been since the day we left! 10 months to go lol
Hi and welcome to the newbies. You will find this thread fun and interesting and Anjalee does a great job keeping up with everybody.
OK back to update. We have narrowed it down to 2 places either Cabins at Ft. Wilderness or the new Art of Animation. For $50-$60 dollars more we can get 2 bathrooms at Art of Animation, so we are leaning towards 2 bathrooms. If anybody has any input on the cabins tho will be greatly appreciated. But with 5 people going this time, will probably go for the 2 bathrooms. I guess you can see I'm really excited about 2 bathrooms!:![]()
