No Longer coming to you Live from Disney World! Take 3 DDW'S TAMBU LOUNGE 8/6

Next was this adult beverage update from Melissa (Poohs100AcreWood).

She said, "Before I headed out of Epcot for the evening, I stopped by...

...and got a Canto Loopy."

"This was the best drink I think I've ever had. I love melon and this was the perfect taste and cantaloupe and the slight kick of alcohol. So peaceful to sit at Lotus Blossom Cafe and sip this."

It's my favorite drink too!!! Love it! :lovestruc

Next we heard from Gisèle (Arielle71) on Monday.

She said, "At noon we went to the Milbrandt wine seminar (it was our 3rd time tasting their wine since they were featured at the Kouzzina dinner and at the Hearty Boys demo."

Presenter Kelly Milbrandt

"Then at 1 pm we went to Rochelle Daniel's food demo. She is the chef at the beautiful L' Auberge de Sedona. Her scallop dish was wonderful!"

"And we met Paula and her DH again!"

She said, "After HS we tood the bus to AoA to eat again at...

Next we heard from MichiganKris, who sent us two updates on Monday.

The first one was from her visit to the Food & Wine Festival booths.

Her first stop was...

CANADA

...where she had the mushroom filet

...and the cheese soup.

Then from...

MOROCCO

...she had the chicken roll, kefta pocket

Kris said, "We liked the chicken roll more."

...and also the baklava.

"Good but crust was not flakey like we are used to."

Their next stop was...

...where they got both the brat

...and the apple strudel.

"The strudel was good, but again the pastry was not at all flakey. However, it was over 90 with high humidity today so that may have been part of the problem."

Kris' second update was from their dinner on Monday at Epcot's...

She said, "Excellent dinner tonight. Lindsey had the onion soup...

And for their entrees...

Beef short ribs

And for dessert...

Profiteroles au chocolat

Our last 5 updates from Monday are all from the reporting team of Kathy (kanadar) & Mary (mare1203) and sadly they are the final ones of their trip which ended on Sunday.

Mary said, "On Saturday morning we had another sweet breakfast of champions from the Beach Club Marketplace. What better way to drink coffee than with a sweet treat!?!"

"Morning peanut butter cupcake...

"This cupcake was better than I thought it would be. Typically, I am not a huge fan of cupcakes, but the cake here was moist and the peanut butter frosting was lighter than expected. It went great with a cup of coffee. :) Both Jeff and Bob thought this was great."

"Cinnamon Roll...

"This was your typical Disney cinnamon roll. Wasn't bad by any means, but also wasn't great. I warmed it up in the microwave so it was soft and warm, but it would have been nice if it were warm to start."

"Chocolate croissant-log...

"Similar to the cinnamon roll, you can get this almost anywhere. It was good, and chocolatey, but not overpowering."

Mary's next update is a two-part one from Animal Kingdom.

She said, "We spent the morning in Animal Kingdom finishing off the rides we didn't get to before Sanaa. Plus it gave us a chance to have lunch at one of our favorite counter service locales...

"I went with the pulled pork sandwich and it was delicious."

"I love that you put on the BBQ sauce yourself so you can dictate how dry or wet you want the pork. I thought both the traditional and sweet and spicy bbq sauce were good, but preferred the sweet and spicy. It had enough kick that you felt it, but it didn't overpower the meat."

"I mostly ate the meat and cole slaw together, southern style, but the bun went untouched. It was fine, I just prefer the meat and slaw as a combo rather than in sandwich form."

"Bob went with a surprising choice of the smoked turkey sandwich."

"He thought this was great and would definitely order it again. You could taste the turkey, but it wasn't too heavy and the cranberry mayo came through as well. It was served on a nice grainy bread. A good choice if you aren't looking for a heavy lunch."

"The onion rings here are awesome and they gave us a bunch."

"The bbq sauce went well with the rings as well. The fries were basic fries and Disney does those well. Overall, a yummy lunch."

"On the way out in what has become somewhat of an Animal Kingdom tradition we stopped at the ice cream cart to get a little dessert."

"We chose a classic: the Mickey's premium bar!"

"Those first bits of ears are wonderful, aren't they?!? We were actually pretty full, so we shared 2 of these."

I was wondering how you join in? I am going Nov. 26- Dec. 3 and would love to be a live reporter. I have enjoyed everyone else's updates and want to share my own. :goodvibes

Then Mary said, "After spending a relaxing afternoon at the Stormalong Bay lazy river we headed to Wilderness Lodge for dinner at...

"I was very much looking forward to this meal. We arrived early and were promptly seated. They came around to give us water and ask about our drink. As this was our final dinner we decided to start with a drink."

"I was leery about the Appletini, but had to try it and thought it was wonderful. It didn't have any bite, but tasted similar to a Granny Smith, a bit sour but no pucker at the end. I was happy with this choice."

Bread service

"We shared a couple of appetizers and chose the "must-do" portobello soup...

...cheese plate

...and heirloom caprese salad."

"I thought the Portobello soup was good, but I don't know that I could down an entire bowl of this soup. I enjoyed having the other flavors of the cheese and tomatoes to complement the soup. The tomatoes were good and the green tomatoes had an almost sour apple flavor to them which was interesting in a good way. There was a big ribbon of mozzarella, but the balsamic didn't have as strong of flavor as I would have liked. The cheese plate was yummy and again we didn't get a card outlining the 3 cheeses, so we don't have a good description of each. The cheddar was the favorite and it was served with a crunchy pear. The blue cheese did not have the bite that blue cheese typically does and was a bit disappointing in that regard, but the cranberry it came with complemented it well. The middle one I can't remember, but it was good."

"I was actually feeling red meat for dinner, but was sad to find the buffalo was not being featured on the menu when we went. They did have it as part of a game trio, but not as a star. The filet didn't really excite me as I thought it was just a steak, so I changed my plan and went with the specialty salmon."

"This was a great choice. At the Rose & Crown the salmon needed the sauce to bring out the flavor, but here the salmon was the star all on its own. It was flaky with a simple salt and pepper seasoning. The accompaniments were okay, but I would have preferred a bit of rice or potato in addition to the cauliflower and spinach. The candied bacon added a bit of sweet and saltiness to the dish."

"Kathy chose the halibut and though it was very good."

"At first glance she thought it might need a sauce, but upon tasting it the halibut didn't need anything. It was perfectly seasoned. The halibut came with a wonderful blue crab pierogi that was delicious."

"Jeff chose the pork tenderloin and thought it was tender and juicy."

"He ate it all up quickly and would most definitely order it again."

"Bob went with the game trio."

"We don't hunt and don't normally eat game meat, so this was a good opportunity to eat something different. It came with venison, buffalo steak and boar sausage. Bob thought the buffalo was the best of the 3 and said it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. His second favorite was the venison, which can sometimes be gamey but this had a nice flavor profile. His least favorite was the boar sausage which he deemed just okay. I had a bite and thought it was great."

"Going into this dinner I knew I wanted dessert and I knew exactly what I wanted."

"When our waiter, Andres, said the cobbler was made with fresh blueberries baked inside I was all in! This dessert was way better than I could have even imagined. The only bad thing I have to say about it was that I had to share. I could have ordered one for myself! The berry ice cream added a wonderful sweetness that complemented perfectly. It was probably the best dessert I have ever had at Disney. The berries were plump and delicious with a warm vanilla cobbler-cake and light dusting of sugar on top. I will have dreams about this one."

"We, wrongly, went with the creme brulee trio in addition to the cobbler."

"Should have gotten 2 cobblers. I didn't have any of the brulee (the cobbler took up all my attention), but the others said they weren't huge fans. It was 3 chocolate brulees, and they just weren't our cup of tea. The best one was the mocha, and those who like dark chocolate would have probably thought it delightful. The white chocolate was the one Kathy was most excited for, but she thought it had an odd flavor. The boys thought they were pretty good and finished them off."

"Magic Kingdom was open late, so after finishing off the rides we hadn't yet hit we got a must-do snack around midnight on the way out."

"That's right, we picked up some Disney popcorn. I have no idea what they do to make this so good, but it certainly is. Even though we weren't very hungry we were able to enjoy a few handfuls and a cold drink as we headed back for the night."

I'll add you to my list of November volunteers and send you a PM (probably tomorrow) with my info for sending me your updates. Thanks! :thumbsup2

Mary continued, "On Sunday morning we headed over to the Polynesian for breakfast at the...

"I was looking forward to this breakfast and a 9:30 reservation meant I was also ready to dig into that wonderful pressed pot of Kona Coffee."

"As usual, both Kona and 'Ohana were bustling with activity, but we were seated quickly. Our waitress, Maria, came by to take our drink order and noting that we seemed ready to order, took our breakfast choices at the same time. We went with 2 traditional choices: Tonga Toast and the Samoan."

"Dad and I got the Samoan and though I have enjoyed it in the past, this wasn't as good as I remembered. I'm not sure what exactly it was about it that didn't excite me, but I only thought it was okay. The flavors just didn't pop like I remember and it could have used a little something extra, maybe in the hollandaise? The arugula adds a little bitter to it in a good way. I would still order this again as it is a good and different savory breakfast choice."

"Kathy and Jeff ordered the Tonga Toast. Kathy thought it was good as always. The strawberry sauce really adds to the flavor profile here. Jeff woke up this morning saying 'man, that french toast yesterday was really good'. That's high praise from him, so he really liked it. To start Kathy got some of the lilikoi (aka POG) juice and she thought it was tasty."

The final update of their trip is a three-part one from Epcot written by both Mary and Kathy.

First Kathy said, "On Friday Jeff, Mary, and I went to get a few things from...

"I LOVE this place because I love caramel. We each ate ours at different times. Jeff chose a brownie with caramel."

"He ate this while waiting for our German booth food to come (Mary and my dad went to get them). He thought it was good, the caramel was a little chewy but he had no trouble finishing it off!"

"I got a chocolate caramel strawberry and a milk chocolate caramel square with sea salt."

"I unfortunately forgot to take a picture of the strawberry but it was delicious. I ate the sea salt caramel on the plane on the way home. :( I have had this one before and it was just as good as before."

"Mary chose a cookie with caramel on top."

"She's not a huge fan of caramel and said it was a good cookie, but would have been better without the caramel."

Then Mary said, "I didn't have to catch the (un)Magical Express until mid-afternoon on Sunday, so we decided to head to Epcot to spend the middle of the day. Knowing I had a 4 hour flight and only airport choices for food I decided to get something for the road. A number of things sounded good, but wouldn't travel well. After pondering for a bit, I decided to head to France for a sandwich...and a final treat as well! One nice thing about Food & Wine is that people are focused on the booths, leaving the small shops and quick service locations with a smaller than usual crowd."

"I finally decided that I just had to try the new French ice cream shop."

"While the brioche sounds and looks awesome I was just too full to get something that heavy, so I went with a traditional single scoop."

"You can get the scoop (or 2) in a cup or waffle cone. I chose profiterole in a cup and thought it was awesome. It was creamy and the profiterole was well mixed in. I would definitely stop here again."

"A number of the sandwiches at Les Halles looked yummy, but I decided to ask the cast member for his recommendation. He said the ham and cheese was the most French, so I had it toasted and went with that."

"I didn't eat it until a few hours later, so it was a cool toasted sandwich. I still thought it was pretty good, but I couldn't taste the mustard that supposedly came with it. I would like to try it sometime right out of the toaster."

"Well, that ends our Disney Dining vacation and we had to head back home. We had a wonderful time sampling all the food & wine delicacies, the many great snacks, and had some great meals. We can honestly say the service was superb everywhere we went and we didn't have any complaints overall."

Next in yesterday morning were a couple of Epcot updates from Paula (smile4stamps).

The first was from their lunch on Monday at...

Paula said, "We started our day yesterday where else but Epcot...4 days we've been here and it's the only park we've entered! We had a lunch ADR to get to though at one of mine (and everyone else's favorite places!"

"While waiting I took pictures of the chandelier that reminded me of Mardi Gras!"

"And some other light fixtures in the restaurant."

"A look at the menu...

"Of course we started with Sangria!! (No worries about leftovers though! ;) )

"Hunter's choices of appetizers are pretty slim here due to everything being fried with calamari. I told him I had heard the beef tortellini soup was pretty good so he decided to go with that."

"I kept telling Hunter that sharing an individual pizza would be plenty. He wasn't understanding me and couldn't believe I didn't order anything myself. When the table next to ours received their pizzas I think he realized we would be fine." ;)

"Wanting some meat, he selected the Piccante Pizza."

"We both had two pieces and that was fine."

"Of course I knew I had to get dessert!"

"I was ready to just stick my whole face in them!"

"It was another delicious Via Napoli meal and what we ordered was just enough for the 2 of us!

"Oops...and one more picture of Via Napoli.

"I finally got a decent one of the ovens!" :thumbsup2

Then Paula said, "After lunch we didn't make it very far and found ourselves at a little stand in the front of Italy."

"Hunter has a love of Limoncello so we had to have some..."

"From there we had originally thought we would have some room to try some of the F&W offerings but we didn't after all. We walked around anyways and found ourselves in France. Hunter had check out the new bakery..."

"After standing in line for awhile to take a look at everything we didn't want to leave empty handed so bought the macaron selection."

"I know we had Lemon, Chocolate, Raspberry...but not positive on the other two."

"While sitting there enjoying our macaroons, Hunter looked up and saw Chef Keeghan Gerhardt heading our way!"

"We were sad we weren't able to do any of his demos this year so it was a nice surprise to see him in the park!"

"After the sweets, I wanted to at least try one food item from a booth...

"Boeuf Boriguinon! Hunter actually makes this so was disappointed to see no veggies with it, as it usually is more like a stew. This was good but not as wonderful as we expected."

3 October Game Points Earned + 12 Bonus Points for signs, menus, display case and misc. pics, and pic of Hunter

Paula sent one more update yesterday morning.

She said, "Next we headed back to the Festival Center where walking in we once again ran into Gisèle!"

"She had just finished the 1:00 pm demo and we were signed up for the 3:00 pm."

"I laughed when I saw what was to be prepared! It appears Pork Belly was the theme of the trip!"

"The menu they provided was 2 pages front and back!"

"Unfortunately we did not like the wine AT ALL and it was not a good pairing for the Pork Belly."

"The wine was a Mulderbosch...Loved the name, not so much the wine. It was a Cabernet Sauvignon Rose."

"The potatoes on the bottom are 1/3 each potatoes, cream, butter. How can you go wrong?!?"

"The team behind the demo."

"Hunter and Chef Matt Carter"
