Jeri said, "We were on our way out of MK today when I decided I needed a cool treat."

He said, "This morning we had breakfast at...










"Lee Ann is gluten free and she met with Chef Jenn and they talked about her options. She had bacon, potatoes, African fruit salad and a cheese omelet and they brought her a plate of gluten free waffles, donuts, and a muffin."

















"I had eggs, a grilled tomato, asparagus, sausage, and ham with that great Boma mustard."




"Almost had the same the 2nd time except I added some fruit and a pecan sticky bun."


"Took pictures of Jill's (jedijill) plate also, she had the small omelet, bread pudding, french toast, a sticky bun and a muffin."




"A great filling breakfast."

Then it was off to Magic Kingdom, where Jamie & Kyle made a snack stop at...









She said, "I had to get a Dole Whip pineapple float."

She said, "Breakfast today was at the...

"I ordered the Bounty platter with no breads and was given extra potatoes...a lot of them. Not bad, filled me up."





"And I also realized after I got this back to my room that she gave me syrup...for something. Haha!"

Then Melissa sent us a three-part update from her day at Animal Kingdom.


She said, "Lunch was at...





"I checked in early for my 11 am reservation and had the place to myself to wander around."

"I ordered the beef and broccoli, which was amazing last year and was just as good now."

"So far, this meal is in the running for my absolute fave! My waiter was awesome too!"




"Then I headed over to the Dawa Bar to try a drink I'd been eyeing."






"And they're even advertising it out front!"




Sugar Cane Mojito - Starr African rum and Sugar Cane Syrup mixed with fresh mint, lime and a splash of soda.

"Slightly sweet, a tiny bit strong, and very refreshing when I felt like I would melt today."

"I wish I had remembered to take a picture of the cupcake display, because they all looked awesome next to each other. They also have a bat cupcake for Halloween, but I was talked into something else."




"I don't know why I ordered this, because I originally came for the spice cake. This was okay. The frosting was thick, heavy, and cold. Even sitting outside, it took forever for it to "thaw". Once it did, it was better, especially with the coconut, but eventually I gave up and just ate the cake and elephant. Pretty to look at though!"



"Done, and still not satisfied, I went over to visit a few of my friends."

"I ordered the chicken tenders to-go, as I didn't feel like staying out after not much sleep yesterday."




"This probably would've been better fresh. The fries were okay, and the chicken was...chewy, I guess. I don't know how to put it. It was a strange texture and I almost couldn't pull it apart or bite into it. There were no "traditional" dipping sauces for them, so I ended up getting the special mustard there and it was SO good. Tasted great with the chicken."




"There are limited desserts for DDP, having only cookies, ice cream, and fruit. I chose fruit."



"It was fruit. Sort of tasteless, but okay."

"I also picked up a sandwich to have later, as once I got back to my hotel, I was staying there."

"First course: Celery and black truffle souffle with a parmesan foam paired with a Bordeaux blanc - 5/5, it was so rich and fluffy!"







"Second course: Saddle of lamb stuffed with spinach and mushrooms and Boulangere potatoes paired with a red Bordeaux - 5/5, the potatoes were out of this world good!!!"





Dessert: Pistachio & cherry choux puffs Religieuse with vanilla ice cream paired with a sauternes wine - 5/5, this dessert is even better than it looked! And we already knew that wine and we looove it!"

Yes, it was a great weekend here on the live thread! :thumbsup2 Thank you for the surprise updates from Disneyland. It's always nice to see what's going on there and it adds to the variety. And speaking of that, do you have more Disneyland photos to send our way? ;)
 
Now for our First Update of the Day from Monday, which was sent to us by Paula (smile4stamps).


She said, "We went to our first culinary demo yesterday."

"During the demo he showed how to make Ricotta cheese."



"We got a wonderful glass of Riesling and then this beautiful tomato salad...








...which ironically had Feta cheese and not ricotta." :laughing:



"Here is the wine representative from Chateau Ste. Michelle...





"And Hunter with the Chef...



"He is from Denver and has a farm about an hour away from the city where they raise most of what they serve at the restaurant."




"We did a lot of criss-crossing of Epcot yesterday due to the planned seminars and still wanting to fit in Le Cellier and then the Eat to the Beat concert. We couldn't go the other nights as we didn't want to miss the F&W Classic. So that meant crossing over the park AGAIN. We arrived in plenty of time...to get rained on. :laughing: Thankfully it wasn't a soaking rain and it stopped when the concert started!"

Then Paula said, "After the concert we hiked it back to the front of the park to catch the monorail! Once there we were back to being hot and sweaty so when we got to our destination I forgot to take a sign pic." :(

"We had a little while to wait for a table so we got a drink from the bar. We both ordered an Ultimate Long Island. I think Hunter had half mine though." :laughing:




"We were then shown to our table and presented with the menu...










"Chef Jonathan came over to discuss my husband's seafood allergy and I was asking him questions as well. See I wanted the Pork Belly and the short ribs. However they both came with the same accompaniment and I didn't want the same thing twice. He said I could switch one of them out for any other side on the menu. It wasn't what I had in mind though as I had really liked the previous version with the pasta. He said they couldn't do that though. We also asked if Chef Axel was there as we had him last time and was hoping he would remember us. He said yes and soon Chef Axel was at our table. He was asking what we were thinking and Hunter asked if we could do some sort of tasting again. He said sure! As I start making faces! I want the Pork Belly and Short Ribs darnit! He said no problem! He will include them! (if anyone wants to read about our tasting from last year it's at the end of my dining review, as I just wrote it last week!) So anyways...back to this year. Our server comes over and asks if we have made any decisions. We let him know that the Chef is making decisions for us. This left him a bit confused, especially when we told him that we don't know what is coming so they need to do the wine pairings for us. Needless to say, he would have been a great server had we not done the tasting but another server who understood more took over."


"Our first course was an amuse bouche of hummus with fig and anise crostini."







"Second course was a fried yellow tomato with fresh buffalo mozzarella."










"Hunter decided it would be funny to take a pic of me with my mouth full."




"The salad was delicious. Very fresh tasting!"



"Next we finally started our wine pairings, as the server figured out what we were doing." :laughing:




"This went with the Veal Shank."













"Veal shank, bone marrow crostini, root vegetables, and Yukon gold mashed potatoes."






"Next came this Grenache wine to be served with none other than...









...my short ribs with TROFIE PASTA!! Hunter took one bite of this and was in heaven. He now knew exactly why I wanted this again. It is SO good!!"



"However I still hadn't gotten my Pork Belly yet!"



"Not to fear...What do you think they would serve with a wine with a pig on the bottle?!?




"Pork Three Ways of course (on the menu it is Pork Two Ways so we got to try something new)."










"This is Pork Tenderloin on butternut squash. Then Pork Belly on cheddar hominy puree and the Pork head cheese on a duck fat fried chunk of bread."


"The whole dish was phenomenal! We were starting to feel a little full! Thankfully only dessert was next..."





"Berries, vanilla gelato with raspberry dust and some sort of biscuit on the bottom and a raspberry gelato that was just amazing!! This was paired with a phenomenal Sauternes."







"And of course we can't leave without thanking the Chef!"






"Overall this tasting was excellent and an improvement over last year's!! The portion sizes were far more appropriate for numerous courses as well, so we didn't leave feeling as if we needed to unbutton our shorts!" ;)
