No it is not ok to Breast Feed ...

Urinating and deficating are natural, too. You don't going around doing that if front of other.

This seems to be a product of the more prudish attitude that seems to be in place in the US. I would not have a problem with this it is a non sexual, natural use of the breast. As for it bein more of a problem to do this infrot of smaller children, I would have thought that they should not be in a mindset to think this rude but then I have seen on other theads here where parents do not let their chldren see them naked from a very early age and I think this just enhances the opinion that the human body is dirty and shamefull

The real issue is that people seem to think of breats as sexual body parts so we need to hide them. Honestly I couldn't care less if someone wants to show off her breats while breat feeding... I find thongs and women bouncing around without bras far more of an issue... I mean show me your butt I don't care, but pull that string out of it first.

Im gonna floss my teeth in public and see what the reactions are. After all, they're just teeth and we all have em, well most of us anyways

Oh please. Grow the hell up.

I don't want to see other people's flabby arms or pasty white thighs, but I see them constantly at WDW. I just turn away.

I breastfed in public, but with a blanket. Not for me, but for other people. After having a baby with a cast of thousands in the room, I have no modesty left.

I can see both sides of this. Americans are prudes. It's just who we are. When my FIL would come to the house I would go upstairs to breast feed. It's just who he is. I thought it was good manners to respect that. When my dad was there (ex-60's radical) I just whipped it out. I knew he was ok with that.

I usually try to respect the feelings of other people around me. It didn't hurt me or my babies to throw a blanket over their heads. I may have seen it differently if either had been a difficult feeder, but they've both been pigs since birth and I had a power squirter ****. You know, the kind that shoots across the room when the milk let down happened. :lmao:

Whatever. Seeing nursing moms makes me happy, no matter where. We just tell our children it's how babies are fed.

I'm much more uncomfortable with them seeing the lastest airbrushed, photoshopped cover of CQ in the bookstore, with some poor actress posed like a p*rn star.

I BFIP all over Disney World, on rides, in resturaunts, on park benches, you name it. Even while walking. They sell these ingenious things now a days that have a strap for mom's neck and a lightweight cotton that is to be draped over the baby. They sell nursing bras, shirts etc. so that it really can be convenient to nurse without showing the world what you are doing. Just my two cents that it definitely can be done tactfully AND in public.

You're at Walt Disney World and you have time to open this can of worms? :confused3

Seriously, breastfeeding in public is fine with me. I did it thousands of times (four kids) back in the stone age and no one ever died from seeing a bit of bosom. However it can certainly be accomplished without showing 'the world' much skin. But I wouldn't get exercised about it if someone did. It's a momma feeding her baby. :confused3
:thumbsup2

I wasn't one who, in public, got half nekkid before pulling the baby towards me to nurse. It can be done discreetly without a blanket. My shirt would cover the upper half and the baby the bottom half. There was always the chance the baby would unlatch and my shirt wouldn't fall down fast enough to cover me, but it's nothing we haven't all seen before, especially at the water parks.

I can't believe people are comparing a mother feeding her baby to taking a crap in public.

I nursed in public and my daughter would not tolerate a blanket over her head. I'd gladly see a pair of ****s than listen to a hungry, inconsolable baby any day.

OT (?): since breastfeeding is not a sexual act, how do people feel about changing in public at the water parks? That's not sexual either, but I've read quite a few complaints about that on the boards.

You eat in public.. why can't a baby..

Exactly.

I'll be breastfeeding when my daughter is born. I plan to cover up in public as much as I can, because that's how I am. I don't like people staring at me. But I really don't care if other women choose not to.

That's exactly what I was thinking. :lmao: "I'm at Disney and need to jump on the disboards to complain about ****s."

FWIW, I've breastfed in public, but always have a blanket. ;)

Breasts are just human udders. I don't see what the big deal is.

If you have a problem, have a problem with the people who sexually objectify breasts, not the people feeding their children.

Gosh as a nursing mom (I swear I never thought I would say that I Formula Fed my first 3) and even a non nursing mom who cares? the other day I was at walmart with my babe. He was on the verge of getting hungry I was talking to him telling him I'd feed him when we got home in 5 minutes.. this lady is like what don't you have a bottle I say no I'm breastfeeding.. she's like good for you and thank you for not just whipping it out and nursing over there on that bench like a lot of moms do and kept going on the WHOLE time she was checking me out about "nursing moms".. I wanted to just sit there and nurse in front of her SO badly just because of how RUDE this lady was.. face it when a baby is hungry they gotta eat.. My kids don't care when they see me feeding him. Why not just tell your nephew, she's feeding her baby that's how some babies eat? I SO wish I was comfortable nursing in public!

Wanted to add when I feed Anthony my whole breast is out.. its the only way I can do it.. the girls aren't small enough to not be seen
..

:thumbsup2

It's because of people like that that I had to hide in my car to breastfeed my daughter.

Something that should be SO NATURAL has now been seen as perverted or weird or indecent, and it's so sad.

It's a breast, people. Half the world has them. And they feed babies. It's nothing to be ashamed about, nor is it really a big freakin' deal. Or at least it shouldn't be. And if you don't want to see it, well- there are PLENTY of other things to check out in WDW. Look somewhere else.

what's wrong with seeing a little nip :lmao:

Seriously, though, I don't understand why catching a tiny flash of nipple (though I would think it would usually be covered by the baby's head) bothers you. :confused3

It only bothers people when a baby is attached to it.;)

Maybe if more people would breastfeed their children, children wouldn't be shocked by it and think something was wrong.

If people would stop caring what other people think about how you feed your baby then nursing in public wouldn't be so taboo. More Mom's need to do it so it's more the norm instead of a freak thing.

A sling is a wonderful thing to own for nursing anywhere. No one even knows you are doing it and you don't have to hide.

My feeling about this is if a woman is brash enough to do this in plain view, I have no problem staring and trying to see as much as I can, even grabbing the camera if its handy...:rotfl: :rotfl:
