No Hollywood Studios availability for 3 days in October

I agree. Over the years, I’ve noticed that MK is less crowded on party days and DHS is more crowded on those days. I typically would make my plans to do MK on a party day (then park hop) and DHS on non-party days because more people will be at MK.

If people avoid the MK on party days, wouldn't that mean larger crowds at all other parks?

Yes but DHS seemed more crowded to me. The fact that DHS reservations are soldout supports that.

UGH - our APs expire Oct 13th and we arrive Oct 16th - I chatted with the AP line today and I have to wait until Aug 13th to renew my APs - and the system won't let me book park reservations without current APs...

I know I can renew "early" at 60 days prior but last year I was able to renew our passes in mid-April for our October trip and now that dates in October are filling up..

ARGH!!

We have the same issue. In the past, we could always renew APs early. They will not let you do that this year. Makes it really bad for park reservations.

sometimes I feel like Disney goes out of its way to make booking difficult...I know that's not actually true but it sure feels like it based on things I've read on here

DHS is the smallest capacity park if that makes any difference. Not sure what the deal is with mid-October specifically. is that big convention coming back?

I don't believe the 2 are related as a return date for Fantasmic has not been announced. With no official announcement it would not equate to it reopening.

Gartner people are super nice though. Just the added people at the Boardwalk area that I'm referring to.

Well, that is the week of Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples Day, and many schools have fall breaks around that time. I'm not sure what the capacity of DHS is relative to the other parks, but I believe it's the smallest of the four.

I’m chalking it up to fall break for most schools, including ours. We will be there that week and I got our tickets late last week. Checked one day and it was all green, checked the next and HS was already sold out one day, and by that evening two days.

I was expecting fall break crowds but this is my first time with the reservation system and admit it shocked me to see all that green leading up to that week and then see HS booked up.

Just checked, AP reservations are all available for that week. You will be able to make AP reservations in addition to your resort related reservations too. So hopefully you’ll be able to get an AP reservation that week.

I don't think the park is reserved anywhere close to capacity. I think closing it is just Disney's way of forcing people to shift over to less reserved parks at this time. Spread the crowds out. Once they are more evenly reserved they'll open DHS back up. Just by opinion on how Disney is working this reservation system.

If you have park tickets for October-December this year I would not be waiting to make your reservations if you can help it. I know some can't because they have to activate things in parks etc but we have tickets for December and I've already made ours.

We've noticed that as well. They fill a big part of Swan and Dolphin.
