I have my DD10's cold, as does MIL. She's hacking and coughing and I'm just sitting on the couch today under some blankets. The only thing worse than a cold is a cold when it's wonderful outside. I may go sit on the porch and try and cook the cold out of myself :sick:. My MIL calls the cold "the gift that keeps on giving" because it's slowly going around the family. Wachoo!

Anybody seen that commercial for Snuggies? They have one for a dog now! THat's what happen when I catch a cold, I watch tv and I'm amazed at what they're selling, and the fact that there are so many "Judge" shows on tv...

Kickapoo~ Sorry about your cold. And your badge. Which I must admit just makes me curious...:rotfl: It was super interesting to read that old post. You know, on the very first try out of the gate, I had one Diser told me it would be a wreck and that it was just like a crash diet that would go nowhere!:rotfl2:

Neatokimmo~ I am sure you are about to slide into that spot between nirvana and crazed "have I got everything" mania. Have a great trip and remember, its okay that you get misty eyed when you realize you've finally got that baby on Main Street!:goodvibes

I'm getting back up on the horse today and getting out the sewing machine. I never sent off the vests to my mom, so I have got to finish them. I also do not want any boys (grown or not) under my feet while I finish them. I may have to run out and get machine needles if I don't have a spare. I didn't check after my unfortunate attack. DH just quietly put it all away!;)

Oh my. Kickipoo - Loved the post from Siouxstone. That's me!! I know my budget is high but it was ridiculous how much I was spending before starting the No Buy in April. I've always taken pride in paying off our credit cards each month but after last Christmas, our credit card was equal to DH and my take home salary combined! And we still had all the bills, insurance, mortage, etc. I did pay it off in full.. with the line of credit. The line of credit has always been there and I'm so used to it, I figure its my own little savings account. Its only when DH said that I'm nickle and diming us to the poorhouse that I realized how bad it was. I walk into Gymboree and they know me by name!:scared1:

Anyway, I've reached a HUGE goal ... our largest line of credit is paid off!!!!!!! It was maxed in February... and today, paid off!!!!! YEAH!!! One step closer to staying home with the kiddos! Next, the overdraft on my account ... will probably take a month or so. Then, the RRSP (like your 401K) line of credit. Taking the highest interest things at a time. AFter that, stocking it into an emergency fund. Like Siouxstone said, every month its something. It'd be nice to never use the line of credit again. :goodvibes

So I'm over in most categories - bummer. I think I may be able to pull off a break-even with my budget once I tally up my ebay sales. I set my budget lower than I'm used to for August, hoping I would be able to curtail spending. I've spent much less than last month, so hopefully I'll find I can keep close to this low for budgeting.

Exceptions:
* Photo Software - now I'm thinking of putting this off and making do with what we have.
* DH and I each get $40/mo. "fun money" - can go out to lunch, buy other non-necessities, etc. I'll track my fun money above, but DH just gets his envelope with $40 cash and that's that.
* Dad's birthday gift - $25
* Getting a passport (I really should have renewed years ago, but now there is a slim chance I'll need to go to Europe for work - not that work will pay for the passport!)

Well, I finished sewing my vests without using a copay!:rotfl2: Now I just have to print the iron ons and well, iron on!:banana: DH is home today as he now gets every other Friday off as part of an hours cut back. We will be running a bunch of errands and I told him I might take him to lunch if he's good.

:cheer2:Have a good weekend everyone!:cheer2:

That's awesome! Congratulations!

I think next month's going to be a serious cold turkey for us-we have a pre-paid anniversary weekend to Disney in Sept, and we paid for it this month but augh, that's added an ugly chunk to DH's normally super low total. I'm going to try and have as many zero days as I can now for the rest of the month to stay under my total-I have to check the spreadsheet to see how close I am...

So I'm realizing that I can't do $0 days. I'm saving a fortune by shopping sales and going to 4-5 different places for groceries but I can usually only hit one a day after work so by the time the end of one week shopping is done, the next week starts... I'm really impressed with the $0 days everyone is logging. I need to push to get all the groceries done on Sat or Sun... maybe that will work.

I am searching through the cupboards trying to figure out what meals I can make without going to the grocery store to get to the end of the month without more spending. Except for church collection on Sunday I would like to zero out the rest of the month but somehow on the weekends, the grocery store keeps calling my name ;)- especially the little local specialty store that has the nice cheeses I love.

:scared1:So, when running my errands late yesterday afternoon, I had a flat tire. I knew I needed them, but with surgery bills and WDW looming, I was putting it off until the end of September. Or not. We had just splurged on lunch out earlier, but ended up eating pizza out while waiting for my tires. On the up side, we cashed in scratch off tickets, coins, and a few things at Once Upon a Child and ended up with $240 cash for WDW!:yay: I've loaded my mousekeeping envelopes, my airport parking envelope, and our travel day envelope! Once I seal them, I'm never tempted to reopen them!:woohoo:

I ended up having another $0 day for Saturday because my niece said she would rather have my home made pizza than go out.:woohoo: And she had a red box code for a free movie (I think a little of my budgeting is taking hold now that she has been living on her own at college). So I made pizza and later pop corn and ice cream sundaes all from stuff I had in the cupboard.

Category I forgot but have budgeted: Alcohol $10/50

TALLY of ebay/consignment sales: $120

Exceptions:
* Photo Software - now I'm thinking of putting this off and making do with what we have.
* DH and I each get $40/mo. "fun money" - can go out to lunch, buy other non-necessities, etc. I'll track my fun money above, but DH just gets his envelope with $40 cash and that's that.
* Dad's birthday gift - $25
* Getting a passport (I really should have renewed years ago, but now there is a slim chance I'll need to go to Europe for work - not that work will pay for the passport!)
