Oh my. Kickipoo - Loved the post from Siouxstone. That's me!! I know my budget is high but it was ridiculous how much I was spending before starting the No Buy in April. I've always taken pride in paying off our credit cards each month but after last Christmas, our credit card was equal to DH and my take home salary combined! And we still had all the bills, insurance, mortage, etc. I did pay it off in full.. with the line of credit. The line of credit has always been there and I'm so used to it, I figure its my own little savings account. Its only when DH said that I'm nickle and diming us to the poorhouse that I realized how bad it was. I walk into Gymboree and they know me by name!
Anyway, I've reached a HUGE goal ... our largest line of credit is paid off!!!!!!! It was maxed in February... and today, paid off!!!!! YEAH!!! One step closer to staying home with the kiddos! Next, the overdraft on my account ... will probably take a month or so. Then, the RRSP (like your 401K) line of credit. Taking the highest interest things at a time. AFter that, stocking it into an emergency fund. Like Siouxstone said, every month its something. It'd be nice to never use the line of credit again.
