No Buy April- come join us!

I really want to join this thread and this month is not off to a good start. My mom just passed away and I have bought convenience foods everyday for the kiddos as I don't have energy.

I am making a goal, that I know I can achieve, of 10 no buy days. I know it isn't much, but I need to start small so I can actually achieve it.

4/1 - Bought food for the kids
4/2 - Bought food for the kids

So sorry for your loss. Sometimes spending money is a necessity and needing this break really is a necessity. Don't be hard on yourself over it for sure. Welcome and  to your family.

Hello everyone!! Sorry I am late to the party, but am in the midst of my 12 hour night shift stretch. This is my fourth night and I only have to work 8 hours tonight!! That gives me a few min. to catch up.:cool1:

My goal is 10 no spend days during April. So far:

4/1/10: $0!!!

4/2/10: $30 for pizza, wings and pasta from Pizza hut. (Family over and too tired to cook!

Now that I told you the good, I must confess the bad. On the last day of March, my wonderful adult daughter introduced me to Dooney and Burke Disney bags. I purchased one. I have never purchased a single item of personal stuff for myself that cost that much. For my daughter, my parents, my grandchildren, ex husband, yeppers, that and more, but never for myself. I will try to make up for it little by little. (Insert pulling out hair smiley here please).

In the morning I have to go to HEB and finish up for Easter dinner, so that will not be a no spend day, but hopefully Easter will be!

Mama Jessie, I am sorry for your loss and hope that you have love and support from those around you!! ((((((((((((Hugs)))))))))))))!!

We had family over for a Good Friday dinner so I couldn't get online yesterday. So I'll be posting twice today.

Hello Everyone! I'm a couple days late joining, but I'm here! I really want to keep spending to a minimum this month. We are leaving to Disney World May 4 and I'd like to save up a little extra cash for tips, souvenirs, and any other incidentals (funnel cakes :)). Last month I made too many unnecessary purchases so I'd also like to make up for that. My goal is to basically stay within $450 for the month. That includes, food/household stuff, kids/dog, entertainment/eating out, vacation prep, and a "whatever" category to catch the other stuff because I don't want to have a million categories. I have a really good stockpile of food in my freezer and pantry so that should help keep our food bill under control. I love to coupon and shop deals so this will help me make sure I'm getting something we need and not just shopping to shop. Here's my month so far...

April 1- $5.99 crocs for DD6
April 2- $1.39 @ grocery store for TP, eggs, and produce. I had $15 in catalina coupons so that really helped me stick to my list. I wanted to spend as little oop as possible.

Total- $7.38
Left to Spend- $442.62

4/1 - $17.55 on meds for dog (hopefully a 1 time purchase)

4/2 – $65 ($38 at Target; $17 lunch out with DH; and $10 Pup-n-Sudz to give the dog a bath

4/3 – $35 at Kroger for last minute items for family Easter dinner, milk, steak for dinner tonight (which I forgot during my last trip in March) and fresh flowers. I just needed some fresh flowers in my life ;)
