Is it too late to join in for April? I REALLY need to start dropping in some coins into the savings jar for our DISNEY trip this coming December. Got to tell myself that this trip is worth more to me that those impluse buys at Target. I have an addiction to that store.

Seems every morning after I drop off the kids at school my car steers itself to Target. I trip around all the clearance endcaps for good deals. I always tell myself that out of everything I buy except for groceries and gas - that I can get away with it because everything I buy has to be a clearanced item.

I buy almost next to nothing at regular price! I need to stop going to SBX everyday, too. Oh and stop taking the kids to ANY store! I'm weak to their boo boo faces.

I need to get a grip.

Ugh! I've had some unexpected bigger purchases this month (seasons passes to Kings Dominion, start up for my home based biz, summer theater for DD, spring break trip to Baltimore), so I'll be dippin' into savings a little, as well as some unexpected visits to and testing by my cardiologist (the co-pays every time are a killer), but, I'm hopeful the next 3/4 days will be ZERO. I'm headed out of town to visit a friend, already have my cash and I'm sticking to the cash I'm taking. NO EXTRA SHOPPING . I can do it!

This weekend we didn't spend very much, a total of $75.39 for groceries and to get our cat's nails trimmed. We also spent $72.00 on gas (Which is actually $8.00 less than I was anticipating because I gave DH $60.00 to fill his tank and it only took $51 and some change.)

I also wanted to mention that this thread is helping me so much! I just started so I know it is hard for me to keep my goals at first. But it is helping my keep track of how much we are spending. I started a budget spreadsheet at the beginning of the year and it was so hard to keep track of these "everyday" purchases but with the help of this thread I just place my receipts on the counter and enter them on here every day or so! This month we've only spent our own money on eating out once for dinner and once for icecream, I don't think we've ever done that before-but the month isn't over just yet! I did buy new clothes, and DH bough a new video game and we bought an exercise bike. Those we things we did not budget for, so we actually are pretty far behind this month. However, I am hoping we get our refund $$ soon so I don't feel so behind!
