I have talked to people on this board from all over......

About my experiences living in Washington State......Being in the Navy.......but not much about living in good old NJ.

How many other's are out there? Where you from?

I live in Clifton....which is 15 miles outside of NYC (Close enough, but not too close...LOL) My husband and I met while in the Navy (stationed in WA State) he is orig. from PA. My favorite vacation besides WDW is of course the "Jersey Shore"....We would love to meet some local DVC members someday!

Let us know alittle about you and where you are.....ask us anything you want ......we are not shy!!!!

Gotta get packing ....(no not going Home......moving to our new "off season home" ( we bought a house) Still WDW is our favorite home!!!! So sad we can't go this year but are still living off the memories of last June's Disney cruise and WDW vacation.....hopefully it will last til next August......

I am in Fanwood (Near Westfield)......my wife, and three boys....twins that are 20 months and a newborn that is 6 weeks. Doing our first trip as DVC members in Sept.

We're in Bergenfield. Just bought in and waiting on our deed. What do you mean "good old NJ". What's good about it? LOL.
It's just that the neighborhood has deteriorated quite a bit since I was a kid.

Hopefully moving to Celebration some day.::MickeyMo

Part-time New Jerseyan here, I spend whatever time I can in my Cape May home. It takes an 11+ hour car ride to get me there.

One very special part of NJ is Cape May Point State Park. There are boardwalk nature walks there that take you though different eco-systems of plants and trees. In September, the wild clematis is breathtaking. In the off season, I can walk my dog, Buster, on the beach, it's food for the soul.

Once I was on a bus trip with some Trenton Public School students, I taught math in middle school there, and we went to Sunset Beach when the horseshoe crabs were laying eggs and the terns and other migrating birds were eating them nearly as fast as the crabs were laying them, it was WILD!

I really do like NJ!

We've been DVC'ers since Sept. '03.

We're in Vineland, South Jersey area. Also ex Navy. Your DH, was he on a boomer or fast boat ? ( I'm assuming he was a bubblehead because of Washington).

We are new DVC members as well. We currently live in White Township (Warren County) but previously lived in Livingston and Freehold

Husband and I were both in the aviation end of Navy....we were stationed at Whidbey ISland Naval Air Station.....the only ships he was on were aircraft carriers....

As for Someones comments about Good Old NJ.....I know things aren't the same as when we were kids here but will always feel like home to me!!! LOL

.... you left out climbing to the top of the lighthouse & searching for Cape May diamonds at the Point.

It's amazing the developement that's taken place down there in the last ten years or so.

Hi neighbor! We're from Stockton, NJ (west central Hunterdon County near the Delaware River). We love it here in our rural small town, but unfortunately we (lifelong residents) are beginning to question whether the expense is worth staying much longer. Halfway between NYC and Philly...so much to do and still enjoy the great outdoors. Thinking we might relocate in summer 2007 depending on where DS goes to college (NC, SC, FL, GA). We'll be taking some sidetrips off I-95 on our DVC trips down that way to see what areas we might like. We just joined DVC in February and will be taking our first trip at the end of August to OKW. Nice to meet you and thanks for protecting our great country!

 Hi All from Randolph.(NW NJ-about 15 min. west of Morristown)
Starwood-DH was born and raised in Bergenfield-agrees with you that the neighborhood has changed a lot.
I was born in Canada but grew up in Paramus(The shopping-center heart of the state!!)
Now living in Randolph for the past 17 years with DS20y;Ds9y; and 3 female dogs-gotta balance out the testosterone in my house somehow!! ::yes::

Bobbi-we love Cape May-go there every year for a long w/e in Sept-call this our "no-brainer' vacation as we just "veg-out'.

If anyone sees a blue Ford Windstar mini-van with A DVC sticker on the back window and a Disney license plate frame that's me!Just honk and wave!! :wave2:

Trish

We live in Wayne, NJ, near Paterson. We're staying at OKW in September for the first time, and I hope to show my husband as many DVC villas as possible while on vacation. Then maybe Santa Claus will bring me a DVC timeshare this Christmas!

sgtpet- spent most of my 32 yrs here in Clifton (minus those Navy years)

Cdz- I hope Santa is good to you too!!! That would be Awesome!

We're from Burlington, NJ. About 10 minutes south of Trenton - obviously in Burlington County.

We've been DVCers since 1999, but I do truly love NJ and am very happy here. It's a good thing that I do like it here, because I am a long way off from retirement. I am hoping to celebrate my 35th b-day and my 10th wedding anniversary at BWV in Mar 2005.

I too love CM. Have stayed at Angel by the Sea a few times and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

I am hoping to make it to Philly before 7/20 to see the Mickey statues.

Happy summer :sunny: !

DS is now in the Roy W. Brown Middle School. Tell your DH if he went there that NOTHING has been done to that school since 1958.

Raised in Salem County near the Delaware Memorial Bridge, moved to N. Cape May, 3 blocks from Cape May Lewis Ferry and love it. Visit Cape May, the light house in Cape May Point, Sunset Beach or just walks on the Bay side beach almost daily. Do a lot of bike riding on the Wildwood Boardwalk in early mornings (days off from work) and cruising the back bays by boat. One of the best move I could have made.

NJ takes a lot of kidding for being the subject of jokes but when traveling around or as we walk through town and see all the Delaware, Penn., Maryland and New York cars there are plenty of people who have found what we have. A great place to live and vacation.
Note I didn't say anything about Car Insurance and Pay to Play so I know its not all perfect.

Thanks for the thread !!!!

Did somebody say Jersey Shore.

OK.. Well than Toms River is represented
