"WELCOME HOME" to NJ

(cental NJ) here.
DVC member since 1992

I agree that NJ has been the brunt of some bad jokes, but for a small state there are a lot of wonder things to see and do here.

Some of the places we enjoy to vacation at or visit are the NJ shore (Avon & Belmar for day trips and Wildwood Crest for longer stays), Cape May County zoo, Liberty Science Center, WDW, the outer banks of NC, WDW, Ocean City, MD, WDW, Hilton Head Island, WDW, Williamsburg, VA and did I mention WDW!!!

We live in Woodbridge Township (Hopelawn, to be specific) - have been DVC members at OKW for almost 10 years. DD28 (The Music Teacher at Colonia High School) was a Disney bride in 1997 at the Wedding Pavillion/California Grill!!!! DS21 is a senior at Fordham University (Lincoln Center campus) and as it would happen, is at OKW with his GF at this very moment!!!!!!!

Well, I lived in Jersey for 12 years and still teach there but I live in Langhorne, PA. I teach computers at Chesterfield Elementary School in Burlington County. My school is just south east of Trenton.

DVC since 97

Hi. little old South Toms River saying count us in too !

Heading home to BCV on July 4th. Yes, we know all about the heat and crowds, but we are going with family and they are not able to get away ay any other time this year.

We usually spend the first week of December at BCV, but with the boys getting older it will be more difficult to get them out of school every year at that time.

Well, enough rambling, enjoy your trips whenever they are!

See you real soon....
George & Anna (as well as Joe, Austin and the "TBA" baby due in November!).

congrats on the baby.....I love getting to meet all of you NJ people!

Have a great day!

My DH and I were born and raised in Pequannock Township, NJ (morris county, next to Wayne) until we moved to PA 5 years ago. (only over the border though, i still feel like i am still in Jersey) My DH is a School Administrator in Frenchtown, NJ (Hunterdon County)

Yeah, i know exactly what you mean by "good old Jersey"!!! :) some of you weren't too far from my ole hometown, Wayne, Clifton....

We've lived in Bayonne for 8 years, So. River for 1 year before that, and Jackson for over 20 years before that.

I love it up in Hudson County, and being 20 minutes from Newark Airport certainly doesn't hurt when it comes to Disney trips!

Gibbstown, NJ here. Near the Delaware River, across from Philly Int'l airport, between Commodore Barry bridge and Walt Whitman bridge. Near mbw12 (hi bobbi). Myself, DH, DD17 and DS13. Love the Jersey shore (those of us from Jersey say we are going to the shore. We know outsiders because they "go to the beach". haha).

Hello to all fellow DVC members from NJ. If I remember correctly, I think my guide told us at the time we toured that next to NY state, NJ had the largest number of members in DVC. I thought that was interesting. Don't know if that still holds true.

neighbors! Bloomfield here. On the boarder of Clifton and Nutley.

Transplant from Yonkers NY. Lived here for 9 years now with my SO. Have a house down on LBI in Ship Bottom. Love to spend the weekends down the shore. Although this year we havn't or won't be spending as much time as we should because of our work schedules.. ;(

I work in Bergen County, Hackensack. We have a lot of folks who work for us in the Bergenfield area. :wave2:

Going to BWV and OKW 10/21 thru 11/1!

Another Jersey shore person checking in. My husband and I grew up in Camden County, but we've been in Cape May County now for about 10 years. Pat-rick - we live about 2 miles from you in Mickel's Run. My husband works in the city of Cape May as a police officer - he just loves this time of year -LOL. We are fortunate enough to enjoy the rise in real estate prices - the equity in our home helped us buy into DVC. We really like living in the Garden State and the shore is the best place to be (especially in the early fall). WDW ranks up there too - that's where we like to go and be the tourists.

So do any of you Jersey folks drive to WDW?

Let's here it for the northerner's. I am from Parsippany and know there are a few more of us lurking.

Sandy

JimFitz-
We drove down in 1998 and 2002-NEVER AGAIN!! DH insisted on doing all the driving-he says it cured him of ever wanting to do that again-so now we fly.All I remember is being numb from the waist down and almost falling out of the van whenever we made a pit stop!! :rotfl:

absoutely not!!! Can't stand being in the car all that time!!. I love flying!!

Sandy, (InstImpres) I used to work in Parsippany on Waterview Blvd!!:)

Born and raised in Paterson the home of Lou Costello and the great falls. Moved to Butler 27 years ago, which is also a great location.

We are close to all major highways and 45 min. to NYC.

In NJ we have similiar issues to others from around the country including a very high cost of living. It is almost impossible to stay in this state when you retire.

Still love the state because of the rual and city atmosphere--the best of both worlds.

Non NJ folks can joke all they want still love the state.

We have driven to WDW many times and prefer to fly. It takes us 21 hours of driving. With limited vacation time we prefer to spent the time at the DVC and not on the road.

Enjoy!
