Nintendo DS Lite thread. Let's find a deal!

Will Santa have to take them out of the package, charge them, then put them back in before wrapping, or do they come with a charge on them? Or do they have a cable you can use to just plug it in to ply aright away?

Told you it was silly, but I need to help santa get them wrapped so they are not discovered!

Santa doesn't have to open the box unless he wants to. There is an ac adapter included with the DS so the kiddos can play right away. Santa did open our box though, so that he could put on screen protectors (he knows how much I hate scratched screens!) He went ahead and charged it up while he was at it.

Dell Home has the Nintendo DS Lite Portable Gaming Console (COBALT/BLACK) for a low $110.49 after 15% off Coupon Code: SKF3MQS8JXV9F9 (Exp 11/14 or after 7000 max uses). Free Shipping. Tax in most states.

I think I am going to buy this now. I keep waiting for a great deal on a bundle, but most include games we wouldn't buy to begin with. Watcha s soon as I click buy a great deal will come out!

Thank you! My DD6 is asking one from Santa and she's been loving blue lately, so I'm crossing my fingers this one will do. For $117 with tax, it better be good enough for her. Those are expensive and with this economy...

Now to look for 1 or 2 inexpensive games from us for her.

I was just trolling websites looking for games for my 7yo dd.

Walmart has a bunch that are two for $30. They aren't the hugely popular ones...but you may find two she will like.

I looked at Walmart, Target and Toys R Us online and found them all flip flopping in price..so if you are interested in any specific games look around a bit! :thumbsup2

Anyone use the capability to play against another player with a DS. Do both players need the game cartridge? Need to know if I should be picking us one or two games for the girls.

Why am I always an hour or two late on these things? I just tried to buy this and keep getting this message: :confused3

I looked at this and to be honest...I don't think it is all that much better than the $155 Walmart bundle deal for the basic unit (your choice of color), choice of game and a basic accessory pack (which you can upgrade to a nicer one w/ a charger for $5).

We are grabbing dd's DS from Walmart...I'm still shopping around for games.

Does anyone have any game recommendations for a 7yo girl?

Both players need the game in their system.

Here are a few suggestions for a 7 year old girl
Nintendogs
Animal Crossings (one of my dd's faves)
Hannah Montana, there are 2 of them
Disney Princess game
Catz, Horsez, Hamsterz

To the pp who asked about the games for 2 players, some of them require each player to have a cartridge but some of them don't. These are some games my dd can play without the cartridige (as long as another person has it) MarioKart, Mario Party, Sonic Rush. I think on the box it will tell you if you are able to play with only one cartridge, its called DS download play and it allows a player to wirelessly download the game from the other player. You will not be able to play the game alone and once you turn the DS off you will have to do the download thing again. This is coming from my dd, I have no idea what she's even talking about :rotfl:

That is a pretty good deal. The only problem with that is you are paying $155, which was a hard amount for my DH to swallow. He cringed at the $110, but did it because it's a gift from Santa.;)

He really doesn't want us to buy the games, but I'm thinking he'll give in to one game. She might have to wait until after Christmas sales for one.

I would also recommend Animal Crossing Wild World & Nintendogs!

My daughter also loves Cooking Mama.

Check out Amazon for the games...always no tax and most of the time free shipping!:)

Does she really like Cooking Mama? I thought it looked lame, but if your DD plays with it enough, it might be worth it.

I showed her this on Amazon.com (the demo) and she wants that. I'm asking her to list a couple more, so we can choose.

Both my daughter(14) and son(9) like it. It is one of the ones they always go back to when the new games wear off. My son also just got SpongeBob Drawn to Life and really likes it. Most games really are cheaper on Amazon.

Some games will allow you to play against each other using one game. You use the ds download feature. My kids use is occasionally. HTH

My DH is right there with yours. We are trying to find the system as cheaply as possible and will buy DS one game. Other family members will buy him more. We don't want to use up his whole Christmas budget on a N-DS. If I was able to, I would have bought the DS bundle at Circuit City because those are games he's asked for but I was too late for that!
