Here are a few suggestions for a 7 year old girl

To the pp who asked about the games for 2 players, some of them require each player to have a cartridge but some of them don't. These are some games my dd can play without the cartridige (as long as another person has it) MarioKart, Mario Party, Sonic Rush. I think on the box it will tell you if you are able to play with only one cartridge, its called DS download play and it allows a player to wirelessly download the game from the other player. You will not be able to play the game alone and once you turn the DS off you will have to do the download thing again. This is coming from my dd, I have no idea what she's even talking about

If you want instructions on how to convert movie files to dpg format for the DS pm me.
You need the mod chips for you to be able watch movies.

Our Toys R Us just had a bundle for the DS , choice of one of 4 games ( Wall E , Tinkerbell , High School musical 3 or a Pokemon game) and a really nice case with three extra pen things for the DS in it for $154 . Was pretty happy with that deal. Picked it up last weekend .

Some games will allow you to play against each other using one game. You use the ds download feature. My kids use is occasionally. HTH

My DD6 loves Nintendogs, it's her favorite, and I kind of like it too though I don't really play it, just watch her play it. She also likes Hamsterz, which I think is sort of lame, but then she's playing it, not me, LOL. We both play Cooking Mama, it's my game but DD likes it too. She has one of the princess games, I can't remember which one, but she never plays it. She also plays my Sims Castaway game though she really isn't old enough to understand it and she can't read all the words yet, ditto for a couple of DS 15's games that she also plays.

We found our Gameboy SP and the charger, so we will get the $40 off at gamestop for one of the dss.

I ordered a black pokemon one for my middle son. It came with a case and a DVD for $130 with shipping and tax.

Now I just need one more.

Yes, but you can't play all of Mario Kart (all the courses) unless both players have their own cartridges. DH and I learned this the hard way, and he ended going out to buy his own copy.

wow. didn't know that. the kids haven't complained about that yet. We got those 2 games so that they could play together on long car trips, etc.

We are driving to FL in Feb and that is the feature I was most interested in.

I am headed to Toys R Us to pick up this bundle. I have been looking at all of them - and since it has the Tinkerbell game I think it will be our best bet. I dont think we are going to find anything better at this point. My DB who is a toy buyer by trade still swears the best deals are the first two weeks of November and not on black friday at least for the hottest toys.

Hang in there! There's plenty of weeks yet to get a deal. Just jot down on a piece of paper the deals you see here and then compare to the new one's that come out. You'll see what is a real deal or not. I'm sure there's more deals to come down the line. People aren't spending like they normally do this year and retailers are hoping to get your business.

C and C Mommy my DS who is 7 loves the Disney Cars games . What does your DS like?

I could not bring myself to order the one from Dell because of the color. DD wants a certain color and she has asked for a DS the past two years (Santa let her know she had to wait because she still drops her GBA on occasion) so I really want to get her the color she wants. I'm sure I'll regret it tomorrow.
