Nintendo DS Lite thread. Let's find a deal!

This is what I have been told from a couple different stores regarding the "warranty". The DS comes with a 1 Year warranty from nintendo. The only difference is if you buy one from the store and something goes wrong with the DS, you just bring it back to the store opposed to sending/mailing it back to nintendo. We have 2 DS's and we didn't buy the warranty on either of them, we just send it back to nintendo to repair.

HTH,
Michele

Won't they have deals on Black Friday for the Ds's? They used to have them for the other Nintendo hand held games - I think it was the SP? - and they were much cheaper than the normal price. What makes you think they won't do that with the DS?

Yes, and when the warranty under Nintendo runs out, and they break it, they will charge you 75.00 to fix. For about 20.00 you can buy the extended warranty from the store, and they will take care of it, or replace it. I have had 2 break on us. DS7 and DD12. Both were after the Nintendo warranty was done.

I, too, have been searching for the best options for the DS. It is the only thing my dd7 has asked for this year. So far, I found a game on clearance at Target for $10 (Right Brain, Left Brain) and I have ordered the Tinkerbell game when it was $19.99 from Amazon. To me, the best deal is the Amazon one posted earlier. I'm thinking that will be the way to go for my dd. In total, she will have 3 games starting out, so I do not think that's too bad. Some of the games out there are just a little too much for her right now.

Though, Toys R Us does have a bundle pack for $154 that includes console, accessory pack, and choice of two games. The games list is out of only four. Not a bad deal if there are some games your kids want.

Where did you buy yours from? We bought 1 from Toys R Us and the other one from Game Stop and they both only offered me a 1 yr warranty for the extra money.

If I'm correct, the Nintendo warranty just comes with the ds, just like other electronics (ex- my hp laptop, is covered by hp for one year. This warranty came with the computer, and did not need to be paid for). The store offers you their warranties so they can make more money off of you.

Unless of course you want the 1 year store warranty for convince, so you do not need to deal with mailing the ds back, and waiting for it to be fixed.

I just ordered a DS bundle from Circuit City. It was the Nintendo DS M&M's Bundle -that came with Red Nintendo DS Lite • Red stuffed M&M• M&M's Break Em game...and also game with either a Wall E, My Sims Kingdom, or Kung FU Panda Game for Free! $129 for the system, two games, and a stuffed M&M

When I try to purchase this, it says NOT AVAILABLE FOR SHIPPING, NOT AVAILABLE FOR IN-STORE PICKUP. What am I doing wrong? :confused3

I just purchased a DS lite for $139 at FYE last night. It has a $30 mail in rebate. Brings it to $109. Not too bad.

You are not doing anything wrong, it looks like that bundle is OOS. They have the blue M&M one but KungFu Panda game is OOS.

Darn it that Circuit City M&M bundle would have been great but I've tried the red and blue and neither is in stock. Keep looking I guess.

I'm able to put both the red and blue bundles in my cart and proceed to the checkout.

ETA I just realized that it is available in a couple stores and not online, sorry.

I have just figured out tonight how to convert a movie file so that you can watch movies on your DS. Yippee:cool1:

Will Santa have to take them out of the package, charge them, then put them back in before wrapping, or do they come with a charge on them? Or do they have a cable you can use to just plug it in to ply aright away?

Told you it was silly, but I need to help santa get them wrapped so they are not discovered!
