NHL 2022/2023 season thread

The Flyers season will be a real crapshow.

The new coach will be gone by Christmas when the team has a record of 4-18-6.

Arizona playing in a 5000 seat college arena. 🙄🙄🙄
And still not filling it.

I think it's another year of mediocrity from my Wild. Kaprizov is amazing, but I don't think they have the team around him to go any farther than the second round.

I’ve read stories that the 5000 seat ASU arena was completely sold out for the Coyotes season. Yet a quick check on Ticketmaster for a random game in November showed plenty of available seats. Not re-sale, but unsold. There were dozens of re-sales available too.

I’m actually tempted to go to a game for the atmosphere. I’m guessing half the attendance will be fans of the visiting team.

As a penguins fan I can never understand how Tortorella keeps getting jobs. Maybe because he’s been a rival coach for so long I just don’t like him, but he doesn’t seem like the type of coach players even like. If I’m not mistaken didnt a player just critique him to the media not long ago? That and I think he’s got past the second round once in his career (he won a cup that year). Not that the flyers were going to be a powerhouse anyway, he just seems like the absolute worst coach for a younger team.

As for the Penguins, who knows what to expect. I expect the same as always. Decent regular season with ups and downs. And an early playoff exit. If goaltending can do well and defense steps it up with the new acquisitions we could be better than that though. Our goaltending has been a question for many many years and this year will be no different.

Bruins will be starting out behind the eight ball with key injuries. I expect a fun to watch regular season, with an early exit if we make the playoffs. I plan to enjoy watching Bergeron's final season.

Woo hoo!!! Flyers won their season opener.

Start planning that Stanley Cup victory parade NOW!!!!

Let's hope the Pens didn't make a mistake by resigning Letang and Malkin.

Great start to the season--against Arizona.
