Next Package/Promotion?

Once Disney finishes a promotion -- i.e. the Magic your Way package promotion ends tomorrow -- do they generally announce another one fairly soon after? Or is their Year of Dreams the next promotion?

Those are really two separate things. The Year of a Million Dreams (YMD) is a "marketing event" whose goal is to promote Disney parks as a whole. They are attempting to create one brand in people's minds, "Disney Parks". As opposed to separate resorts in Anaheim and Orlando. The YMD is meant to create demand in the same way that the Happiest Celebration did. Prior to that, the marketing events were resort specific.

They also seem to be removing the gaps between the marketing events. For example, there was a gap between the Millineum Celebration and 100 Years of Magic. But there is no gap between the Happiest Celebration and YMD. They are relying on these events to drive demand for the parks, rather than making larger capital investments.

Magic Your Way is the specific pricing program for WDW. Disneyland Resort has its own pricing structure. They each periodically offer their own special package deals and discounts. The free Dining Plan at WDW is another example of this type of promotion.

These types of promotions are usually more plentiful in the off-season, so if WDW has one ending today, I'd be surprised if they don't have others in the works. I don't keep up with the promotions as much because they are rarely something I can use. I know about the free dining, but that's it.

I didn't realize MYW had a ending date. So, can you not book a "Magic Your Way" package on Oct. 1?

MYW does not have an ending date, so you will be able to reserve and purchase such packages long into the future. What they were referencing above was the fall discounted package promo, which ended yesterday.

1) Magic You Way is not a promotion.
2) It is a slogan or cliche for the admission ticket.
3) Basically, the term says
. . . tickets and options are now ala carte
. . . you buy what you want
. . . in some cases you can mix and match

I'm assuming OP is referring to the free dining offer which (I believe) was included with package stays through September 30.

Room discounts are offered most of the year in some shape or form, but they are typically made available on short notice. Right now there are room discounts in the $25-75 neighborhood (varies by resort) up to the holiday season. In a month or two they will probably release some Annual Passholder and general public room-only codes for January and February.

But package deals with seemlingly massive savings are only offered once or twice per year. The format of the offer is also unpredictable. A couple years ago the deal was that if you booked 4 nights (room + tickets) at regular prices they gave you 3 free nights. In '05 and '06 it was the "free" dining when you purchase a package.

While only Disney is privvy to the expected occupancy figures (which is a large part of what drives these discount programs), the Fall and Winter months normally aren't a time when you can expect to see the best deals. It could easily be August '07 before the next "free dining" (or equivalent) deal is offered.

Actually, I think what the OP meant was the end of The Happiest Celebration On Earth. The special Cinderellabration show had it's last performance a few weeks ago. The special decorations are coming down off the castle. HCOE had a 17-month run, but is now coming to a close.

In it's place, the Year of a Million Dreams begins today. What's to follow next year hasn't been announced, but as Epcot opened in October 1982, it's a fairly good bet it will probably revolve around Epcot's silver anniversary.
