while the overall ride is less than what it could be, I have always enjoyed Kali. I wonder if they will enhance it a little for night time? The overall scenic dullness while on and around the ride might make it actually better with torches and stuff at night. At least I hope it does.

The fireworks will be nightly starting the 18th but will actually debut at a private sold out force awakens event at DHS on the 17th.

There will be new force awakens music in the firework show.

Unlikely - they are just closing it for the cool weather time and to do annual maintenance. This is not a "plussing" closure.

Yeah, I figured that, just hoping they might enhance it sometime. Since it is an outdoor ride I would think they might have to do some lighting or something to have it open at 10 p.m.

Most water rides get a "cleaning" during the winter, so yeah that's probably all this is.

I tend to agree that if there was a time to do a little more than usual, now would be. Maybe not as much as some would want...but they are planning to have a later night at animal kingdom, and if they have any thought to keeping Kali in those plans, it wouldn't be a bad idea to add some things now while it is down. I am sure at the very least the idea was tossed around the room.

This just in from a company that just noticed all the buzz about it's flagship US resort is about 2018 or later.

[edit] wait, what now. They're listing an event that *ends* on the 3rd of January as a reason to visit in 2016? I'd argue the Osborne lights (while not something I care about) could be held up as a poster child of "beloved things we've now shuttered" that makes the pre-2018 WDW look so hopelessly strained.

This just in from a company that just noticed all the buzz about it's flagship US resort is about 2018 or later.

Yeah I found the Osborne lights one a stretch unless they plan on extending them past Jan 3rd.
