That's because it seems it wasn't selling like they wanted.

All the dates appeared to be sold out when trying to get a reservation (of course not many were offered in the first place). Our March reservation was cancelled, luckily part of our group had booked the first night but really wanted to go in March. I made reservations the day they came out and other members of our group who wanted to be added were unable to get any dates they tried for and we were all pretty flexible with dates.

It was only on Saturdays which was weird from the start. Maybe they thought it wasn't going to last? Who knows with Disney these days.

Cannot fathom why they would cast and train people for something for that short a time period in the first place. Then, they cancel March ? Why not cancel them all ? Everything to do with DHS is awful, local high school students run run ourlocal Mc D's with more communication and management skills.

It's not just DHS management all of WDW management is wacked up.

Just wanted to point this out from the miceage article earlier this week.

From Micechat, re DL SW Land...

"...the actual construction phase of Star Wars Land will begin, and that program has been code named “Atlantis” by WDI. (Greek scholars will appreciate the Imagineers coded references here.)

When the construction phase of Atlantis begins later in 2016, the biggest warehouse, or “show building” in Disneyspeak, will be found in the northwest corner of the new land and will eventually block the views of Mickey & Friends. That building will be the home to the Stormtrooper chase and escape ride, code named “Alcatraz” at WDI, that will feature autonomous trackless vehicles and nearly every other techno marvel WDI can throw at it.(emphasis added) The second largest building will be on the northern perimeter and will contain the Millennium Falcon flight attraction, which is code named “Big Bird”. These massive show buildings should begin to be framed in by early 2017, with a projected opening date that’s now pegged for Spring, 2019."

It's been said that the WDW projects have different code names tho. We could be riding Star Wars attractions by spring 2019 according to this. And the first trackless ride in WDW.

Interesting. I always thought that Disney needed one of those in their US parks. In terms of size and scale, I think we could expect something similar to Mystic Manor, perhaps a bit bigger in scale. Of course, I'd rather have something along the lines of Pooh's Hunny Hunt or Mystic Manor than another simulator with big screens everywhere.

Everything? Don't you think that is pretty cynical and unreasonable?

I think 3 years is a reasonable time for a project this big. I think it also indicates that Toy Story will be before 2019 (probably 2018). SO we have Pandora in 2017, Toy Story 2018, Star Wars 2019, Phase 3 2020??? That would be a pretty strong 4 years of opening at WDW!

Agreed. I just wish they had planted some other seeds 3 or 4 years ago that could have been blooming right now.

Oh boy…I can't even describe how excited that makes me. A top of the line, state of the art trackless ride coming to Orlando. Oh yeah, and the personalized 'you pilot the Millennium Falcon' ride as well. They will shoot for the highest level of immersion possible with this to knock Diagon Alley off of its pedestal (although I personally still think Harambe and Anandapur in DAK are the best themed area of any domestic park). Depending upon how good the night time fireworks show eventually is for this park, this is probably the draw WDW has needed to pull some of the crowd levels down at MK. I can see an increase in guests at the Epcot resorts that want to be near this park after 2019.

And that is a legitimate question...

I am softening my stance on the early mishandling of this...IF...they move as quickly as they seem intent on now.

2021 simply isn't good enough. Not when you have free reign to do something people want that is sure to be a smash, money making hit in your parks.

Not to use universal as an example...but they didn't wait 3 years in deciding on diagon alley and 6 years to build it.

Exactly. I've heard late 2017 to early 2018 for toy story, 2019 for Star Wars and 2020-21 for phase 3. And who knows what else could come in that time. I just saw wishes is supposed to be replaced before 2021.

People having been saying that Star Wars will be the most immersive thing they have ever done.
