Shanghai looks amazing, especially the pirate area. Lucky S.O.B.'s and D.O.B.'s.

I wish Disney would build a park in South America too, so the tour groups would stop coming to our parks. Sure they're nice to look at, but man are they annoying. It's like getting trapped in an elevator filled with 30 clones of Sofia Vergara's character from "Modern Family". I'd take a group of band geeks from Nebraska over them anyday.
For right now China is the focus, expect s second park in Hong Kong sooner rather than later. Disney loves those brazilians coming to WDW. South American economies aren't good enough for a Disney park right now. Also Shanghai Disneyland is a very shaky project of you want to know more visit the trouble in Shanghai thread.

And now Lee said he would guess they're doing a rafting ride. It's a very well educated guess. That would be amazing! Big Thunder is my favorite ride at any Disney Park, but the one that would give it a run for its money is Grizzly River Run. That ride is awesome! The themeing is excellent, and the ride system is one of my favorites. Create a really immersive environment, add in either some Lewis and Clark, Dinosaur, or Bear animatronics and you have an awesome ride!
I'd love that ride, but the only puzzling thing would be its proximity to splash mountain

They could possibly shorten the river a bit and add room to that while creating a path. Another speculation piece is the liberty belle will be docked because of this.

Noooooooo! Not my steamboat! That seems to be the only place and time that I take pictures. So most of our WDW pics are on/from the Belle. I would be forced to buy MM:( Plus, it's one of the last places to sit in the park.

I probably should've posted the couple I had from the other day I posted them on wdwmagic but not here my bad.

That is the mesh around the steel. Next would start to be pouring some concrete. I think we still have a bit before that tho.
Hey you're a busy man, no problem in letting some others give u hand, we've got you

Its not something I do constantly but its nostalgic as hell and still fun to do every few trips. I'd be quite bummed as well

Though if they found room on Rivers of America to expand, maybe there would be a second back entrance to Liberty Square, coming in by HM. Hmm...
That Is the area I was also looking at. There is a huge section of the island past the Tom Sawyer part as well as the area in back of BTM. Accessing it be interesting but you can go around behind HM also the idea of adding another RR stop as well as another loading location for the riverboat make great sense. It could all stay inside of the RR line and really not get in the way of much.

I know they are supposedly doing more Toy Story stuff in DHS with the expansion, but I think this would be a good place for a Woody's Roundup themed area. Move the Woody/Jesse/Bulleye M&G here, put together a 4D show, a character meal, a flat ride (maybe the Maters Junkyard Jamboree style ride (rethemed to Toy Story) that has been loosely rumored for DHS), and a trackless dark ride (ala Pooh's Hunny Hunt) and that's a really nice area.

When we were at MK in June, we saw Woody and Jessie at a spot near the Splash Mountain exit. They were fine there, but I kinda hope they don't bring a heavy Woody influence to the area. It's but a single aspect of Toy Story and I don't think of the American frontier when I think about that movie. I know Song of the South has nothing to do with it either, but so much of the story is told indoors that it doesn't seem out of place at all in the area.

I just think of classic Disney (Davy Crocket, Westward Ho) when I think of Frontierland -- not animated features set in the modern day (whether a central character is a cowboy or not!).

Figured I'd chime in on the $385M Frontierland Expansion...

I think the Frontierland expansion is happening because the foot traffic on the LB and TSI are not enough for that amount of dedicated land in the busiest park on property. Rumors were up in the air for years about the Liberty Belle being docked, so you can't say it would come as a shock. They could start 1st quarter and only hardcore fans would notice. Splash is usually down for refurb in Feb anyway, and just as the others said, I've only been to TSI a handful of times in all of my trips. A water version of an omni mover certainly would help crowd control. With this move, Disney is throwing in the short-term public relations towel on DHS and AK, focusing on Magic Kingdom's 50th anniversary.

While I believe a raft ride would be the most likely (and easiest to install with the track plans and moat land already laid out currently by the Liberty Belle), the queue line would probably be weaved through Ft. Clemens and the rope bridge would get a huge overhaul as the entrance. It makes sense. The dead end/smoke area at BTMRR would be the perfect place to install an overhang and connect to the current rope bridge area. Even with the small boat(s) going back and forth removed, you'd still be able to backtrack and explore the first part of TSI (up until the barrel bridge). They do have restrooms on both connected islands, so that shouldn't be a problem even after the new attraction is built.
