I was on Tikiman pages yesterday and just thought that I would add to the news thread. For those Polynesian Village fans, apparently April is the target for the opening of Trader Sam's Grog Grotto. That is something that I cannot wait to see as the concept art for it, as well as what I know from the California location, makes it look amazing.

Not yet but they haven't fixed the yeti because Marshmallow is going to be put there instead.

I agree but Rumors have been around for over a year that its delayed and Disney has continually said its on track.

But they could've been more vague in an opening date which would help them. They have repeatedly said end of 2015 and it really doesn't look like thats happening.

I like it because they have some other piece of news that'll over shadow this announcement. They're pushing it back to make the announcement in conjunction with some other piece of news. They're probably leaking it to the press the days before the earnings to get investors ready. Tonight they'll announce record Parks and Resorts earnings that will overshadow any news on Shanghai. He'll make just a brief passing note on it tonight. Investors won't care because he just reported record earnings and everyone will be happy.

Update, here's something directly related to the parks. Not a solid announcement like the other one, but still definitely proves relevance to Disney Parks fans.

Announced at a quarterly earnings call as just one example. They often give updates on progress of existing projects as well. This would be the perfect platform to give an update on Shanghai. Also at each quarter Iger gives an equally informative interview with Bloomberg TV that usually reveals tidbits as well.

Yes they have announced studios things.

That Star Wars "announcement" wasn't anything significant. We all know Star Wars is coming and Iger has said pretty much the same thing before. All that announcement was is Star Wars is coming. No details, no location, no time.

Now a Shanghai update I could see them saying something but they don't typically announce new rides or expansions during them.
