Micechat has a new update today.
Disneyland

Frozen is still coming but not when all of the the other holiday offerings debut. They will debut it on December 20th the day that has a triple blackout on most AP and starts the two busiest weeks of the year.

Soarin, splash mountain, world of color, luigis will all close in January for refurbs

The hatbox ghost is supposedly making a return to the HM and will be installed in May.

The backstage alleys will be completed by Halloween.

Frozen will be gone from hollywoodland in May when the 60th celebration starts.

Most of the backlot tour trams have been or are being taken away on trailers to be most likely sold at an auction.

Wait... Hatbox ghost? after all this time? I wonder if they finally made a convincing effect.

Supposedly they will start to prepare for the ghost when they take down the overlay and it will be installed in May.

Seems like something that could be used for a Star Wars Speeder Bike attraction as well.

Agree...

A high speed, non simulator Star Wars ride HAS to be built sometime in the future...

If not...what's the point of putting star
Wars in the parks?
This could be an adaptable speeder bike or star fighter platform - if they can actually build it.

Disney has always misidentified the real valuable themepark market with Star Wars. They always thought it was 6-10 years old boys.

That's wrong... They would sell Way more crap and get more loyal travel if Star Wars was angled at the 10-50 crowd. Put an edge to it. Star Wars is sci fi....not children's.

Did 8 year olds watch Star Trek? No...it was over their head.

I'm so excited....waited 10 years. The Incredibles 2 coming !!! !at long last, it appears that Disney/Pixar is ready to grant the masses of Incredibles die-hard fans their wish. Today, at the annual meeting for the shareholders and D23 members, Disney Chairman and CEO Robert A. Iger confirmed that not only is an Incredibles sequel being actively developed, but that Pixar and the Mouse House also have a third installment in the popular (though the least critically-respected among Pixar’s brands) Cars franchise planned and starting to move down the pipeline.

i disagree to an extent..i still think the market (in terms of merchandising is the 11 and under crowd for star wars)

obviously the movies will be popular and do well but merchandising is huge for the youngsters

i did a little research on this seeing how i work with 12-17 year olds...it was pretty interesting what i found out

one of the questions was
would you rather watch a harry Potter film a lord of the rings film or a star wars film?

What was the result? (I'm assuming SW, but you know what happens when you assume.)

to be honest it wasnt even close
harry Potter won easily with LOTR and Star Wars tied

again this was just for fun and nothing scientific and im sure star wars will do better once the new movies come out

Star wars virtually had no girls in the vote..its a very boy centric IP (nothing wrong with that, in fact i think that helps disney big time)

WOOHOO! that's excellent news. I always wondered what happened there.
It was reported that when dismantling the garden they hit a water main and it caused a bit of flooding in the area. Disney of course never confirmed anything but it makes some sense.
