In my opinion that new system is a pretty good idea, at least for A&E. It's pretty much the same concept of legacy FP.

Let's be honest. A 5 hour wait is not good for Disney, it's not good for the CMs, it's not good for the parents and it's not good for their grumpy children. Sure, not everyone is going to be able to see Anna and Elsa, but the pre-parade at MK and the Frozen activities throughout the summer should suffice to reduce some of the urgency to see the Frozen characters.

Your ok with people telling your child that hey are unable to do what they want because well they just didn't get there fast enough? They cant see them even though the only thing they wanted to do that entire day was wait in line for Anna and Elsa? If those people pay to enter that park and then are told they cant do something that isn't going to fly.

I would be OK with that.

For the first time ever all four Disney Cruise Line Ships will hold the special halloween celebrations.

A full program of holiday fun is in store for guests on most sailings from September through October 2014 as described by the cruise line below:
Mickey’s Mouse-querade Party, a celebration in addition to Pirate Night with games, dancing and lots of candy! Beloved Disney characters, wearing special Halloween costumes just for the occasion, will join guests for this fun-filled costume party.
A Nightmare Before Christmas—Sing and Scream, an interactive movie experience where guests are part of the action, followed by a meet-and-greet with Jack Skellington and Sally
Haunted Stories of the Sea, where the bravest cruisers gather under the stars to hear some true—or not so true—tales of the sea told by a mysterious sea captain storyteller.
Creepy Cabaret, a party in the atrium featuring favorite Halloween-themed music performed live by a band of ghostly musicians.
Halloween Isn’t Just For Kids: For adults, the nighttime entertainment district on each Disney ship becomes the ghoulish setting for a costume contest and a Villainous Takeover on the dance floor.
Spooky Movies: To get guests into the spirit of the season, Halloween-themed movies will be shown in Buena Vista Theatre, on Funnel Vision by the family pool and in guest staterooms.
Ghoulish Delights: Disney Cruise Line chefs have conjured some very special treats for Halloween, including chocolate cake with pumpkin filling, spider cakes and “Spooky Juice.”

Yes, I would be ok with that too. If it is that important than I would be sure to get there early enough for my child to do something. If the only thing my child wants is that one meet and greet than I'd be sure that was what I planned around. It is a private business they can tell me what I can and cannot do. It is my choice as a consumer to go or refuse to go based on my ideology.

Call me a bad parent (I'm not even a parent yet), but I wouldn't wait 5 hours to meet the queen of England, let alone a couple of college girls. Sorry, but that's just me :confused3 I don't go to WDW twice a year, so if I earn some money to make a visit every 3 years, I'm not going to spend half of my day waiting in line with a grumpy child. I totally respect whoever thinks different though.

If you don't get a ticket to meet A&E, go for plan B and try to catch them at the parade or at HS :thumbsup2 If Anna and Elsa are so high in someone's priority list to say they are the only thing they want to see that day, then A&E should be your priority for FP+

Back in January, we had Nana sit and wait for A&E when they were at Norway. She read her Kindle and was totally fine for the 3+ hours it took (and we were there about 30 minutes to park opening and dashed to Norway first thing...yeesh!). She texted me when it was about 20 minutes left and DD and I ran to meet her. Worked great. I think that people should have the option to wait if they want b/c some of us have nice Nanas that are happy to enjoy coffee and a Kindle instead of running all over the park.:goodvibes

I mean to me its not big deal cause I agree with people who say its not worth the wait. But I look at the other side for people with little girls who maybe they couldn't make it to the park early in the morning to get their card. So you have to turn to your little girl and say "hey I know you wanted to see them but they said we cant see them cause we weren't here early enough" If they want to wait 5 hours for a ride they have the right to do so. Of course I also agree that Disney can do what they want. But I doubt you wouldn't be so down with It if it was moved to all rides. Wouldn't it be nice to know that if you were to go late in the evening that you could only ride the 3 rides you booked cause well everyone else took the stand by cards for everything and dream on about getting more FP choices that day. Idk I am just trying to see it both ways.

The new section of parking lot in Animal Kingdom is going to be the "Yeti" parking lot. This is being reported by WDWMAGIC and the parking lot is expected to be finished by September.

Construction walls are up in the Peter Pan queue. Don't know for sure but its likely it has to do with permits that Disney filed for "Peter Pan Queue Enhancements Phase 1"

Telling people they don't get to do what they want even though they paid 100 bucks to walk in the park!?

Yup. I am also ok with that. Reality... sometimes you don't get to do what you want. Just because you are paying the entry fee, it is not a guarantee that you will ride any/all specific rides and attractions that day. If meeting Anna and Elsa are that important to you, then you have multiple options 1) reserve a fast pass plus spot... 2) get there at rope drop... or 3) take your chances with the stand by line.

The expansion of Discovery Island at Disney's Animal Kingdom is now underway.

As part of the work, the tip board has been removed, and an area beside the Outfitters gift shop has been cleared of trees. The Disney Outfitters store will be expanded into some of the space, and a new animal exhibit will be built. The cotton-top tamarins are expected to move into this new habitat once complete.

Finally. That's like one of MK's worst queues, if not the worst given the waiting times. Can they at least install something to ventilate that place? :rolleyes1
