News Round Up

Gotta scratch my head on this one. 6 months does seem like a long time, even with all the things mentioned. But what is more strange is that they would close it that long AND open it with the old version again. I would think when they want to put in the new film, they will have to close again to reprogram the seats movements and scents, plus adjust for any timing issues.

Where are you seeing that info?

Every thing I've seen still says FL residents only.

Not to mention, that's what it says on Disney's own website. I just tried to "buy" an AP to see if there was any way to get a monthly payment plan and there wasn't.

So I try to keep up here, but I may have missed some of these, if anyone knows…

1) Are there still rumors about BTMRR going down for a long refurb? We're going in April, so maybe BTMRR and Soarin' down? That's a bummer since those are my two favorites.

2) Are people thinking those are benches or standing areas for Rivers of Light? World of Color is a standing nightmare so I really hope they're putting in benches. Ugh.

3) I've been checking around, but does anyone know why wdwmagic went from saying Rivers of Light would be March to saying May? Obviously a bummer for the April people.

4) I am NOT complaining, but it's interesting that if DLR is trying to reduce the number of APs that they are letting me renew my pass (Southern California, the one only available for renewal) at close to the same rate. It has to be one of the more poplar ones still.

If I recall, BTMRR is still going down for a refurbishment. And by the way, apparently it's been confirmed that Disneyland Paris is getting the California version of BTMRR with all the new effects and such. I think it's very possible that MK is also getting the explosion effects during its refurbishment, though I doubt the track will be replaced as in California's and Paris' versions.

Seems to me with all the price increase we should all stop trying to find good deals from Disney and instead find a good way to fake a Florida residency. :lmao:

And before I get a bunch of nasty responses...
I'M KIDDING!!!

I mean . . . RIGHT? I've often thought about that. Seriously. Not so much faking, but finding a cheap way to do it.

1) Well - I haven't heard MORE rumors about BTMRR - but agree that is the rumor.

2) It looks like RoL has seats - not standing. World of Color is a great show but agree the weakest part of it is that its standing. Really brutal for short people/kids.

3) Disney has never said anything but "spring" for RoL. Regardless of what the rumors say, there's no firm date. These types of shows take lots of testing and often have delays before opening. Expect later over sooner.

4) They aren't just trying to reduce passes as much as drive people to less crowded days/times. I don't know the details of that pass, but I'm pretty sure it's one of the restricted ones, right?

1. Yes

2. Still unknown at this point. If it's for sure seating that may really limit the amount of people able to see this show. There could be some serious capacity issues.

3. Well Disney has been safe in saying spring 2016 so may still falls within that. Things might've been delayed so that would be my only guess at this time.

4. This definitely isn't the last of price increases Disney is going to keep increasing those prices until they find that level they want to be at.

Correct. The MK refurb will be shorter and likely just include the effect upgrades. The Paris version is going down for a year for all new track and a major refurb.

But seats correct?

According to the pictures they don't have seats yet. The concrete "railings" seen are a bit high to be seats so it is unclear at this point.

It looks like it's concrete tiers, which I guess you sit on. I doubt they will have chairs or seats. At best, they might have metal bleachers/benches, which is what I thought Fantasmic at DHS has.
