Since I've sworn off hard ticket events I don't really care, but at the rate they are raising the prices on these things (10+ % per year) in 5 years it will be more expensive to go to the park for 5 hours than to go for a full day. (if you get a mulit-day pass of course, it already IS more.)

Ahh, but he's right - I've talked to Imagineers that say they could fix the Yeti problem in about 2 months time, but WDW is too afraid to shut down EE to do it. So here we are 10 years on with Disco Yeti.
I'd say that the Yeti is a unique situation in that they've never really officially aknowledged it's broken, and Animal Kingdom struggles because it has so few rides. Fixing the Yeti is less marketable because that would need to aknowledge there was an issue in the first place. They could spin it like we've just spent months to enhance the Yeti experience. Still not the same as an all new scene in PPF.

I'd say the soonest they'd take Everest offline is after Avatar opened.

This is TDO we are talking about you expect huge things for the 50th? They are most likely going to sell the DHS updates as part of it. WDW will run these rides into the ground but they won't shut them down for more than 4 months just like pirates unless of course they get some new management maybe.
The Magic Kingdom has consistently gotten the most money, and the most attendance growth. Updating the PPF would be a perfect heartstring puller.

Yes it would but again a ride being down for 4 months or more is not something TDO wants unless they absolutely need it to go down.

I love that the Hatbox Ghost is finally coming back. He has become a true legend in Disney parks' history. Hopefully the effect will work properly this time.

The spirit has said Fultons will be closing at DTD for a refurb and new theme. It was rumored that a New Orleans theme but spirit says a nautical theme is likely. This change is most likely due to the new boathouse restaurant being very similar in dishes.

Also the insiders say that hatbox ghost will most likely make his way to WDW in the near future as well.
