News Round Up

Irresponsible rumor mill again.... Now based on every actual move for the last 10 years... Why?....dear god why?... Would they build a "new, huge resort" in that area? There at about 80% occupancy (much higher around 2000...I can verify as a fact)... So seriously...can't bloggers switch the common sense filter on every now and then?
I just found it interesting so I posted it.

Every bone wants me to jump on the Fox News comment...but I wont. I doubt Disney is going to build another large resort.....they do test like this all the time.

Well...if you want actual truth...

All those outlets will have to be disregarded.

Yea to be honest I look for my own sources but when I watch news it is Fox. To me they cover what is truly important. I want to know about the Christians being killed in Iraq and how we are helping....not the dog found in Nebraska that was lost for two days. But thanks for providing yet another interesting discussion....it be rather dull without ya.

The spirit has said say goodbye to the Hollywood studios name because something new is coming. A rebrand of the park is on the way and soon.

I say It's about time, and hopefully it's really soon.

Agree to disagree...

But we'll just go on our separate paths and concentrate on EPCOT discussions... With olive branches extended, of course.

I would assume if true it's "Walt Disney studios"

With Pixar, Lucasfilm, and marvel under that shield...they probably are feeling pretty good about themselves

Maybe with some park changes....I bet it will be Disney Hollywood Adventure....watch and see.

Time to head down the road a bit and visit some other theme parks we all know.

Sea World

Sea World has been struggling majorly the last little bit. Stocks have sunk and attendance has decreased. Management has now come out and released plans to expand the Killer Whale tanks at all three American Sea World locations. We are talking HUGE multi acre tanks visible above and below ground. They also plan to donate 10 million to a wildlife protection group.

Universal

Now this is rumor debunking along with some rumor adding.

1. King Kong still rumored to be on track. Expected opening to be late 2015 or early 2016. King Kong is also being rebooted.

2. Permits were filed to build more resorts.

3. That internet rumor that Universal was looking at a monorail or Peoplemover system to connect the resort is false. This rumor came around when they bought the land around Wet and Wild. Nothing more then a fanboy dream.

4. Fear Factor looking to be replaced soon.

5. KidZone looking to be on the chopping block but exclude ET.

6. Land behind MIB is being eyed for possible expansion...possibly Star Trek although this is being debunked as a fanboy dream.

7. A wild rumor that Universal is looking to build an Iron Man coaster...although this is yet another fanboy dream that has been debunked by other sites.....with reasons I don't have to explain.

No wonder people call it the most disjointed theme park Disney has ever created :lmao: I guess it's a good idea to change the park's focus to some sort of TV & Movie industry tribute instead of the movie studio concept it originally had. Magic Kingdom 2.0? I don't mind, I'll be there for the attractions.

In case you haven't seen it, Radio Disney Club uploaded a first look into Hong Kong Disneyland's new night time parade Disney Paint The Night. Honestly, the floats look fantastic, and this is just a sneak peek. Really hope to see this parade make its way into the US in one way or another.

Wow. That looks good like really good. The rumors are the Disneyland parade will be very similar to this one so that should be good. Now if only WDW could get something different.

Good news for drivers of electric vehicles - Epcot has opened an EV charging station in the guest parking lot.

The four Level 2 charging stations, operated by ChargePoint, are the first to be deployed at Walt Disney World.

Drivers of the Chevy Volt, Nissan Leaf, Tesla and other electric vehicles can find the chargers at the front of the Journey parking lot, with a cost to charge of $.35 per kw/h, with a minimum charge cost of $1.50. Like all ChargePoint stations, they are available on a first come, first served basis, and guests can request directions to the stations from the Cast Members at the Epcot parking booth plaza.

Traffic along Seven Seas Drive will be one way only at times this week for road works.

Seven Seas Drive, which runs across the main entrance of Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, will be one-way westbound, towards Floridian Way. Expect this to be in effect from midnight to 8am daily, from August 19 to August 22 2014.

Along with resurfacing the road, a new pedestrian crosswalk will be installed for Polynesian Cast member parking lot access.

It looks as though Marriott are wasting no time beginning construction after filing construction permits for two new hotels in Flamingo Crossings.

This past week has seen early site preparation take place on the site of what is expected to be a 'TownePlace Suites by Marriott,' and 'SpringHill Suites by Marriott.' You can read more about the plans here.

Neither Disney or Marriott has announced the project, so at this point it should still be treated as speculation.
