News Round Up 2020

See that’s why I will love this. HS should be relatively empty in the afternoon and evening so we’ll probably actually visit that park more. I have no desire to ride ROTR so being able to just wander around TS land and GE without the heavy crowds in the morning will be great.
For sure .. this is nothing but positive even if it is limited capacity .. even if they won't have enough park-to-park transportation .. even if they don't sell new APs.

It makes me a bit more excited for my January trip (though now I have to figure out if I want to pony up the cost to park hop (which seems even more worth it now since so many attractions are closed in each park) .. or hold out hope for APs being sold.

Why is everyone's hypothetical situation about hopping TO HS? Disney has already stated hoppers to HS won't get to ride RotR, so there's no point.
I have a 6 and 3 year old. Both big enough for the Falcon now (3 year old missed it by the size of a piece of paper, which they used back in July on her) plus they love TSL. We'd totally hop there for those.

SeaWorld News

SeaWorld will be making an announcement at 12pm today. It’s expected to be about Icebreaker. Possibly a POV or opening date.

You can't get in until someone leaves? I'll assume a line will start forming if there is some kind of overflow.

However that will probably never happen because Disney probably knows that no park hits/stays at capacity from 2pm onward.
Right now it doesn’t but on certain days they have such as New Year’s Eve at Epcot or MK or Fourth of July. Mainly driven by fireworks which aren’t happening right now. This of course is likely why Disney is doing it this way right now because they don’t have those nighttime drivers.

Slow news day.

I for one plan to engage in Grand Floridian Bridge Hopping, which is when you hop across the entire length of both bridges, annoying the older folks out for a nice stroll. I predict it will be very popular among oversugared, overstimulated 3-7 year olds.

You may be out of luck. Technically that’s always the case. Things like that happen on Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

I agree. This won't be a big issue except for at the very busiest of times. Hopefully by the time the next peak season rolls around we will be well past all this stuff anyway.

Oh jeez! That better not become a thing. I hate bridge hoppers lol.

Well you still have MMRR and Star Wars in general there which is a driver for many. It has all the newest toys.

Epcot - The Magic of Possibility : The Harmonious setup includes fountains which will also be active during day time. The Harmonious ring is 6-story tall.
Does this mean we will have no Friendship boats between countries?

Did they mention if they’re restoring bus service between the parks? I didn’t notice that anywhere.

I don’t see why that would stop. They won’t run during the nighttime show of course but they should still run during the day. The fountains aren’t going to shoot hundreds of feet to interfere with them.

That I have not seen. That’s a good question too and likely something that will be said later. Skyliner obviously is running right now. The other would be monorail between Epcot and TTC.

Epcot - The Magic of Possibility : Ratatouille to be “the first bilingual” show in Epcot, as the script is the same than the Disneyland Paris version, crafted in both languages.
It was years ago, but when we went to Disneyland Paris, they had several shows that were bilingual. The way they were "crafted" in both languages was very clever. One actor spoke French, the other responded in English (and vice versa). That way, even if you didn't understand the French line (or the English), you figured out what they had said based on the dialogue from the other actor.

Disney knows how many people are in the park via those who have tapped in. They also know how many have reservations. Disney has plenty of data to alert guests which parks may be at capacity for park hopping.
Yeah, most of the time it will be fine. I wouldn't bank on being able to hop to Epcot on opening night of Harmonious though.

I could see that going either way. I could see them not having park-to-park buses at all ..just to keep costs down and just tell everyone -- if you want to hop - drive or go back to a resort and catch a bus from there. As long as people know that before purchasing the park hopper option.

If anything -- if they do have park-to-park bussing I would suspect it may be long waits for buses between the parks because they won't have many due to reduced capacity and probably reduced number of people who have park hoppers.

It would be nice to at least offer it from like AK since that tends to close the earliest

Maybe then bring back the monorail line to EPCOT, them you have most parks covered between that, the Skyliner, and then if they have the bus from AK

Park hopping returns! Wow. I don't like the thought of being "turned away" .. but considering not EVERYONE can park hop, I don't think it will be an issue .. capacity should balance itself out, right?

I guess capacity probably won't be an issue except maybe HOPPING over to MK (or whatever park is open the latest).. even then .. after 2:00 PM, I am sure a lot of people have left.

The question is .. what if I leave a park to go back to the hotel and want to come back later. Is there a possibility of being turned away because the park is now full?

I think this will lean even MORE guests to start their day at DHS (to try and and get on Rise) .. and just hop over to another park after they get their rides done. DHS may be less crowded in the afternoons because of the ability to hop .. say over to Epcot.

This will help EPCOT immensely. That place will definitely get more people in the evenings.
We're staying at Yacht Club in January and this definitely makes me happy. We will probably start at another park every morning and hop to Epcot every night and walk back.
