News Round Up 2020

I could see that going either way. I could see them not having park-to-park buses at all ..just to keep costs down and just tell everyone -- if you want to hop - drive or go back to a resort and catch a bus from there. As long as people know that before purchasing the park hopper option.

If anything -- if they do have park-to-park bussing I would suspect it may be long waits for buses between the parks because they won't have many due to reduced capacity and probably reduced number of people who have park hoppers.

Really, they only need AK busses if the monorail is opened. They could run AK to Epcot at the front and at the back, and everyone utilizes the monorail and skyways. But if tons of people are hopping they may need all bus routes open to keep the distanced lines manageable.

Do we know how many people hopped before? I read a lot on the theme parks board about people never buying hoppers. I always seem to be in the minority...

Perhaps transportation capacity won't be a big issue.

I don't think there's a bus loop near Epcot's International Gateway, and dropping people off at the front of Epcot and making them walk through Epcot to the International Gateway in order to get to Hollywood Studios isn't a good idea. I also am not thrilled by the idea of dropping people going from AK to MK off at the Epcot entrance and telling them to then take two Monorail rides (or a Monorail and a boat). It's not just a social distancing issue; it's a travel time issue.

There is not an official loop. There is a drop off back stage that is used for the cast shuttle. They are not going to do that for day guests.

They are going to have to restart park to park buses for some parks. MK-AK, MK-Studios, Studios-AK, AK-Epcot at a minimum. I just don't see Disney wanting to make people monorail to Epcot, walk to the IG and then Skyliner to Studios or vice versa. That will skew the Epcot numbers. However I can see guests being told to use the Skyliner between Epcot and Studios for the present time.

It was years ago, but when we went to Disneyland Paris, they had several shows that were bilingual. The way they were "crafted" in both languages was very clever. One actor spoke French, the other responded in English (and vice versa). That way, even if you didn't understand the French line (or the English), you figured out what they had said based on the dialogue from the other actor.
We saw the Marvel show at Disney Studios (or whatever that park is officially called) there 2 years ago and it was exactly that. It was kind of funny, but it definitely works. For anyone confused, dialogue would be like:
Captain America: Nous devons atteindre le toit.
Black Widow: You're right Steve, we should get to the roof.

I was shocked when they announced the Skyliner and they didn't have it go to the FRONT of Epcot (I get that it would have to go over too much "ugly" backstage) .. but seems like an oversight to not have the Skyliner be able to drop guests off at the Monorail so they can go to MK without ever getting on a bus. That's also why I hope they (some decade) can extend the Skyliner over to AK (stopping at Coronado or All-Stars on the way).

But .. yes .. I could see them running minimal routes and using as much of the non-bus transportation in place. Will it be a "pain" to hop without your own car? Probably .. but Disney is needing to take baby steps to get things back to "normal". (because the volume of guests just may not be there for a while to justify the normal frequency of routes we are used to)

I think the thing to remember with the skyliner is the main function isn't to park hop it is to get those thousands of people at those resorts to EP and DHS more efficiently and reduce busses.

I guess one could argue that if there was a way to get to the front of EPCOT then people from those resorts could get to MK without using a bus, but that would require Skyliner to EPCOT to Monorail to TTC to another monorail or ferry to MK - that is a lot

Park to park at one time, for certain routes was every 30 minutes, I can see that returning for now, probably for all routes.

I also can see Skyliner routes being expanded at some point in the future. I do think it was a big miss to not go to the front of Epcot.

It worked well with the show's. We saw the stitch thing that is similar to laugh factory had all English shows. Star tours was primarily in French in that they have some English versions but it's random. I don't remember rat being in English and French so it clearly didn't effect my enjoyment of the ride.

I mean for me it's pretty magical. Display all these things and my money somehow disappears
