News Round Up 2016

Umm, shooting things out of drones sounds kinda dangerous. Just me?
Not just you.. especially any explosive projectile (e.g. fireworks). The back blast could potentially throw off the balance of the drone. Coupled with a random blast of wind could be quite a recipe for disaster.. just look at the mishap last week from the DHS fireworks that almost hit (or did hit?) a moving car. Car could have swerved in front of the bus.. lucky no one was hurt.

I imagine though they're just filing all these permits before someone beats them to it.. not necesarily going to use all or any of them, but using this as a business strategy to prevent the competition from using the ideas for a period of time... someone like Universal from doing something similar (imagine flying Dementors in Hogwarts during Halloween Horror Nights or something).

I'm sure these wouldn't be large shell fireworks but smaller ones. The drones would also hover over water for safety purposes. That way if they fail they drop right into water and not on people.

So if I'm Following this right...

They're giving it a separate name...to try and ignore the recent bad publicity regarding the gator incident - but also to justify the 200% mark up to the original wilderness lodge points that still exist on the same site?

Am I missing something? How are we gonna handle booking on this one, kids?

I think the name (first I'm hearing of it) is more the tactic to try and upsell the second half of the same DVC development under different terms and try to ease it under the door.

It was already mentioned - but this was announced a few months ago. They are also renaming the EXISTING Wilderness Lodge Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge while the new one is Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.

What wasn't answered to you previously is that yes indeed - these WILL be TWO separate DVC resorts within a single resort. This was always very likely, as they couldn't justify combining units with a 2042 end date and a $90 resale price point with units that will have a 2068 end date and a $180 per point price point.

I seriously doubt they will try and price these cabins at the same rate as the Poly. They'll still be overpriced, but not THAT overpriced.

The only thing I would say is what in the world would be the point of shooting off fireworks from a drone. Fireworks charges are designed already to go off at specific heights (time delays - but still that's the effective results.) I could see wanting to use drones for an led light show or something, but as a firework launch.

Methinks this is just a case of wanting a patent to cover as broad a range of uses as possible, even if they have no intent to use it as such.

I completely agree. It's likely just to patent it in case for broad ranges of possibilities.

Are you buying this load of bunk, Pete?

I'm not as concerned with the purchase price...more the point charges in the half the old lodge that's gutted.

Gonna try to charge more there...are your eggs gonna taste better at whispering canyon if your toilet is newer and you have to walk 100 ft less?
