News Round Up 2016

Or you know... they never join the Avengers. Up to this point, there is nothing that has happened, nor anything rumored to happen in GoTG 2 that would make them part of a single team. The Guardians can continue to fight a common enemy while not crossing over... Disney wouldn't kill a potential park IP simply to remain "true" to comics, no matter how much some fanboys want it to happen.

I might be wrong, but I think they already confirmed that the characters from Guardians will be featured in one of the upcoming Avengers. The real question is what are the limitations Disney has to follow in order to retain the park rights to those characters, which apparently they can. I think eXo just explained it perfectly.

Disneyland has officially debuted the new Mickey and Minnie heads or faces. WDW wil get them for meet and greets and such at the beginning of the year. WDW already has them in Mickey's Royal Friendship Faire.

I think the charm of the miniatures found in Storyland is simply beautiful. I can't wait to take my fiancé there as a surprise on our DL trip next year! Walt loved miniatures and this is simply a romantic beautiful boat ride. Especially at night.

Why Disney would choose to fix their main character's faces instead of fixing the horrific versions of Buzz, Woody and Jesse they've got roaming the parks. Am I the only one who thinks they need tweaking? Their scary and not a good likeness to the character's lovable features.

It's likely a cost issue...I would think

That, but definitely a location issue. Disneyland Forever was much longer than the old fireworks show (I want to say at least twice as long) and residents surrounding the park aren't real thrilled about lengthy nightly fireworks. It's also the reason RunDisney events don't have starting fireworks.

Buzz I think is ok - almost see him as a robot type character. Agree with you about Woody and especially Jessie who looks a bit scary

Disney doesn't build their own rides. They may patent things but they don't actually construct anything themselves. Vekoma does a lot of the Disney coasters. They have done RnRc, mine train and many more. Disney doesn't the design work but let's others do the build.

Sorry, my original question/statement wasn't very clear. I understand that Disney outsources construction.

I meant that if the coaster that Vekoma is building that very closely resembles a Disney patent (per the article), in fact WAS a Disney patent... well then I find it curious that the coaster would be going into a non-Disney park before Disney installed one somewhere.

Okay. I understand however we have nothing to believe that as of right now this prototype Vekoma is building is for Disney. It very well could be for Disney but it also might not be for guardians. I think this is all just speculation from WDWNT with little substance behind it.

I read it as it is being built at a test facility - not at another park

Photo update

Wilderness Lodge Copper Creek DVC continues to move forward.

So if I'm Following this right...

They're giving it a separate name...to try and ignore the recent bad publicity regarding the gator incident - but also to justify the 200% mark up to the original wilderness lodge points that still exist on the same site?

Am I missing something? How are we gonna handle booking on this one, kids?

Well the new name was happening regardless of the gator incident.

Right...but the poly bungalows got some bad press in that and it's a tad of a "bad show" on the other side of the bridge too...me thinks.

I think the name (first I'm hearing of it) is more the tactic to try and upsell the second half of the same DVC development under different terms and try to ease it under the door.

...and i think it's coming at probably 4 other properties. Really...it's what is going on in the parks too...repackaging older stuff at a higher price.

You missed the naming news then because the name has been out for months now.

I do completely agree it's part of the mark up in costs.
