News Round Up 2016

WDW needs a big Space Mountain refurb. Disneyland's Space Mountain is 10x better even without Hyperspace theming.
It was supposed to get a big one in 2009. If you ever pass by in the peoplemover and see the spray paint markings on the ride with the lights on those markings were for that refurb to replace parts of the attraction.

In my opinion they should just rebuild the whole thing, but I guess they can't afford to close Space Mountain for that long. They've added breaks and stuff everywhere and at this point it's just too bumpy and rough.

That's cool for Hong Kong, though. They'll have to find new ways to keep HKDL competitive against Shanghai. Losing a ride as precious as Mystic Manor would be truly sad... Or the whole park, for that matter.

This almost made me want to pay to try it...almost.
Yep I posted that in the after hours thread. It hasn't been popular but I think this will actually get some people to go now.the Disunplugged team did a review of it today and found it to be worth it in their eyes. The park was completely empty and they could do pretty much whatever they wanted.

I wonder if it will still be as empty when they sell all the available tickets? Or did they end up giving away all the tickets last time? :)

We were there the first day...wish they would have found us for some of those 100% discount tickets.

Honestly, I had an initial negative reaction to these after hours events, but right now I'd say I agree with many of the arguments that were discussed at the Disunplugged. There's definitely some value to the experience of having the park pretty much for yourself and do whatever you want. If you can pay it, go for it.

My only concern would be the possibility of these events eventually reducing park hours for regular guests as we've seen with other events.

I'm one of the few who could find a good value in the after hours event. We're flying into Orlando the night before our cruise. We were not planning to visit the parks at all. I would have paid for the after hours access. It's not much more than a 1-day MK ticket. I imagine it would also appeal to people who are in town for a convention or youth competition when they don't have much time to visit during the day. I do agree that i only like it if it does not affect the regular EMH.

Do you have a link to their review or is it in one of their podcasts?
