News Round Up 2016

Just a possible show in the Lagoon there. Ride vine is the one that had the rumor.

It would be interesting to see a 'nighttime show' in a non-ticketed location. I guess it's not unprecedented - casinos in Vegas do the same thing. It would definitely help elevate Disney Springs to more of an 'experience' as opposed to just shopping. Even something fairly simple with the new drone tech could be a beautiful, atmospheric kind of show. More like the AK tree lighting than Illuminations or Wishes or something.

Got the email today for our Alamo Drafthouse today, but we will be at Disney when it opens, but hitting up Dr Strange there tomorrow. Best movie theater around. NO talking and texting and beer served to you at your seat! I'm spoiled now and dont want to go anywhere else.

Seriously, whenever we do another theater we're just like....why are we even doing this!? Alamo can be a little more expensive but it's worth it. Have you ever done one of their quote alongs or parties? We just did the Twister quote along and it was amazing. We had noise makers to use whenever a storm came up, some people got cows to throw around at their seats, we got a water bottle for rain scenes. Then when Dorothy flew the employees threw glittery streamers everywhere.

"3 Things Disney Needs to Say on Thursday"

The media giant reports fiscal fourth-quarter results on Thursday afternoon. With the stock in a funk, let's go over how it can win back investors. These are challenging times to be a Disney (NYSE DIS) shareholder. The stock is out of favor, trading 24% lower than it was when it peaked 15 months ago. The media giant reports financial results for its fiscal fourth quarter after Thursday's market close.

For a New Year's Eve party that includes food, wine and cocktails, and entertainment, that's not an unreasonable price. it's certainly not out of line with the parties here in South Florida. Some of the more "exclusive" places are in the $400-600 range and they don't include food or alcohol.

I'm certain all of the special parties at WDW will sell out.

My kingdom for an Alamo Drafthouse anywhere in Connecticut.

If by Kingdom you mean $75,000 capital and $1,000,000 net worth plus property preparation resulting in initial investment north of $1.25 million - sure you too can have an Alamo Drafthouse in your neighborhood!

I'm gonna send an email to Uncle Iger to have him wire the money to me. That's chump change.

Disneyland moving bag check to include Downtown Disney

http://www.wdwinfo.com/news-stories/disneyland-moving-bag-check-to-include-downtown-disney/

"According to a recent article in the Orange County Register, the Disneyland Resort will soon be relocating one of its security checkpoints.

The checkpoint on the west end of the esplanade near La Brea Bakery will be eliminated in favor of three or four new checkpoints that will put Downtown Disney within the secured area.

Guests parking in the Mickey & Friends parking structure will soon go through a new bag check before boarding a tram to Downtown Disney."

Just made me think of some of the discussion here about moving the MK bag check to being multiple locations, etc. ... also made me wonder if bag check is coming to Disney Springs in the future
