More on the probable menu change coming to Skipper Canteen

So disappointing if it is entirely changed out with basic run-of-the-mill amusement park fare. I go to these parks to experience things I don't experience in my routine daily life. I can eat hamburgers and chicken nuggets at home at a million different locations. And there are plenty of places in the MK to eat those things. Give me something different to experience and I am happy.

As one person noted, Disney is always pandering to the lowest common denominator.
It's always easier to dumb down an idea than to educate someone to it's good points.

Pretty disappointed to here this. Though I do have to say that seeing what was coming for Tiffins it did seem to overlap a bit, so hopefully they take some of the "best of" from here and bring it there.

The Explorer's Club Restaurant in Mystic Point in Hong Kong Disneyland had a similar theme of representing these different areas, largely southeast Asia ... so the food was different but seemed more "known" to me than what was on the Skipper's canteen menu. Things like Tandori Chicken, or Korean BBQ Short Rips - so not your usual park fare but things more people might have seen before a little bit at least. I wonder if something like that could work

Though, to be fair, Disney could have "educated" people more by making the menu more approachable and having some less exotic items (don't have to go all the way to Chicken Nuggets, but a few options that people would be more willing to try) could help to bring people in and then once there maybe they try something someone else in their dining party got or something. Make it easier for them to be willing to try something different

I guess there's no chance of Off Kilter returning? One of my favorite WDW entertainment options. Didn't they recently get rid of the lumberjack show?

I just read on the Port Orleans fan site that two former band members from Off Kilter are playing at Scat Cat's Club at POFQ on some evenings.

I think the same day thing was a mistake. It would make more sense to make everything in the park ADR and hold 5-10% for walkups at all restaurants. If you've trained people to ADR the crap out of their vacations, your target market isn't going to do a walk up table service.

Sorry, your idea would make sense. Disney doesn't do that.
