News Round Up 2016

For the Falcon ride... the part that has me "hopeful" is the take control. I hope its legit and not Mission Space take control. If they can take Forbidden Journey, put 4-6 people in a cockpit on the end of a Kuka style arm, and then have your interactions and stick control actually affect the outcome, and the axis control of the ride - then you have something.

If its forbidden journey where you are on a track mixed with mission space style "control" of your experience - well it'll be what it is. But if they could make it true simulator in at least a few parts where banking right actually banks right and you see a different scene than if you bank left... that would be good.

If it's a legit, you control the ship video game like Men in Black/Forbidden Journey combo, I think it will be hailed as better than Forbidden Journey or Carland.

The website described that as an "update," as of today Feb 22. However, more then a month ago, the WDC shared this photo:

That sure is a ... large castle; not very beautiful, but impressively large. Perhaps they were going for imposing? If so, they nailed it.

Cinderella Castle and Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant remain the real beauties in the fleet.

April 18th is the new rumored opening day for Rivers of Light. According to streaming Disney Tusker House will offer a dining package where you can book any meal (B, L, D) and get reserved seating. No word of Tiffins will also be included.

That would be an incredible offer. 1) I love Tusker House 2) It's a great character meal.
ROL seating would be an easy bonus.
I'm all about it. Of course, I bet that means that the booking window will get nuts on TH.

Hopefully those resv as well as FP will open soon. I had to make my FP+ reserve last night - nothing showing up yet for our 4/23 arrival dates....

Just searched for this on ebay. Why oh why won't they release it in MK? I'd be all over it.
I don't even mind that they just threw a little hat and scarf on the design for Christmas. The Toy Story Little Green Men ones are neat too!

Any word on if the dining package is something special you have to book or just part of the normal meal there? We have it booked for breakfast currently for our upcoming July trip so would this be something we automatically get or would have I have to cancel my current ADR and re-book as dining package?

It would likely be how they do fantasmic and it's a separate booking.

Here is what I am hearing. The big construction project for DHS is 2016 will be the parking garages. They want both finished before they open the new lands. Star Wars DHS version is looking at a 2019 opening. As for the lands most of the work this year will be site prep more than anything not much actual construction so it seems. WDW is looking at having major openings in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020.

no, No, NO!... a hundred times NO!

I'm ok with the other three parks opening without a welcome show, but this is the Magic Kingdom! It's such a fun way to start the day and the kids are always so excited to see all the characters welcoming into the park. Okay, so maybe I like it too.

Saving a couple hundred bucks and taking away a big magic moment is so shortsighted and sad. I hope it doesn't happen.

I know this discussion was like 10 pages back, but I'm getting caught up...

I would be broken-hearted if they stopped doing a welcome show. My favorite, most special memory of WDW is the look on youngest DS's face when he saw Mickey in the show. Granted, I will still have my memory, but what about the future families who may miss out on a magical memory like mine?

I'm good with that.

Beats waiting 3 to 5 years for it all to open at once like a 5th gate would take IMO.
