Newest "Moms to Be" Thread

Man I'm tired of complaining...on a good note, it has now been 3 days since I've gotten sick. I still feel yucky right before bedtime, but no where near as bad as before.

Oh! And DH and I went out to dinner last night! Woo-hoo! It was the first time I've had a restaurant sit down dinner since my disney trip in December (which shouldn't count since I was so sick, but had no other choice!).

So yay! One check in the good column! ;)

Sooooo.... I went to the Dr. today. Babies are looking good, and getting big! I am measuring 41 weeks!!:faint: I have gained a whopping 4 pounds in 2 weeks, and I am so big, I almost fell off the scale. :rotfl2: My belly hit the bar on the back, and I started to tip over. Thank goodness the nurse was there to catch me!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: My husband said I am going to need to back in from now on. Beep..Beep..Beep. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I go back in two weeks.. and then, we start talking about the ole babyectomy! Holy cow. I am getting way close. Two babies.. What the hell. :faint:

So guess what?! I woke up this morning with flipping pink eye!!! DH has had it for a couple of days, so I figured it was coming, but still...just when you think you really can't catch much else, bam!
So I went to the dr AGAIN (4th time in 10 days!) and she prescribed some drops that are cat B.

Get to the pharmacy and they tell me that the drops are brand spanking new and no one has them yet. So I may or may not get them tomorrow. They may have to give me something else. I just want something to make me less contagious for all the kids I'm around at work. I am NOT taking any sick time because of pink frigging eye.

I hope everyone is having a better day!

Oh no, I feel your pain! I had bacterial conjuctivitis in both eyes last month, it was so disgusting. Two days later I got an earache. All from a lovely sinus infection. Nice how pregnancy lowers immune systems, eh? :sad2: I hadn't had stuff like that happen since I was a kid!

I got Tobramycin eye drops (or something spelled like that), and my eyes cleared up in a few days. If it's bacterial, it's grosser but it goes away faster than viral.

Pink eye?? YUCK! And on top of everything else. You poor thing! When I was 4 months pregnant with my first, I thought I was DYING.. I was really sick, so I went to the dr... Turns out I had a sinus infection, pink eye, and an ear infection.. all at once. Good times!:rotfl2: Thankfully I was far enough along my MS was gone!

:rotfl2: :grouphug: Do they have any idea how big the babies are?

"Babyectomy"--love it! :lmao:

Last appointment they were measuring 3 and a half pounds each.. I am guessing they are easily pushing 4 pounds each by now. It feels more like 15 pounds each though. :rotfl2:

My Dr told me to go ahead and fill my second antibiodic perscription too, because I'm still gross with sinus issues, cough and my ears. So we want to make sure it's all clear and doesn't repeat and get worse.

Luckily, I really don't feel that bad and we caught the pinkeye really soon since DH has it. And dare I say, the MS really seems to be on its way out. I'll take pinkeye and what feels like a cold over the way I felt last week anyday!

My sister said when she was pregnant she just turned around when she got on the scale so she wouldn't see the number.

It's getting close for me, too. She could come out any day!

What is with these crazy infections happening all at once with pregnant ladies? :crazy2: I would get a sinus infection now and then, but I've never had so much happen to me at once!

:faint: When you gave birth?!
What time of year was it?

I'm hoping that my health will improve once we get into spring.

I had my growth scan yesterday because I am measuring 4 weeks small on outside measurements. Apparently, I am just carrying weird because they estimated that she is 5lbs 13oz which is 71st percentile! So definitely bigger than we thought. If I go full term, they guessed she will be 7.5-8 lbs. I had high hopes of pushing out a 6.5-7lb baby! Oh well- at least she is healthy! Plus, I guess they can be off by a pound either way.

Hope everyone is feeling good!

That's what we are here for :grouphug: ... that is what I love about being on this thread. It makes me feel like someone gets it, DH tries but I know he thinks half of it is in my head. Till I tell him one of you have the same thing going on.

Good news, that sounds like a nice size princess: !

Met with the surgeon.
He said the surgery risks pre-term labor and until 28 weeks, he won't attempt it. At 28 weeks he said at least my baby had a chance at survival if they couldn't stop the labor.

So, he said to keep my insurance card with me and prepare for the worst- being hospitalized 2-3 times in the coming weeks for IV fluids and pain meds and baby monitoring.
If i'm absolutely miserably, he said he'll do the surgery after 28 weeks but would be much happier waiting until at least 35 weeks in case of preterm labor.

So we'll see. I might get a few stays at the hospital under my belt before all is said and done!

Sarah, that sucks! I hope it gets better and you get your drops!

Piecey, not the news you wanted to hear. At least he had your little boy's interest as first priority. I hope your discomfort is bearable.:grouphug:

Thanks... I'm actually very okay with everything he said.

He said that the ER Dr. should specialize in doing his own job, not the surgeons :rotfl:. He asked me wha the ER Dr.'s said and I told him and he just shook his head and said "No." and walked me through everything.
He said IF the stones move into my cystic duct, it can be treated ways other than surgery. Surgery is a last resort option until I am at least 32 weeks.
I think we talked for a good 25 minutes, he didn't act like he was hurried at all which I LOVED about him. He was very honest with me and said that he had done the surgery on pregnant women before but he wanted me to stop and think about the scenario.

My gallbladder isn't going to kill me. It's going to make things very, very uncomfortable possibly for the next 17 weeks, but do I want to risk my baby's life for my discomfort?
No.
So I'll wait until there is no doubt that baby Lucas can make it if I were to go into pre-term labor and they can't stop it. Which he said is about 32 weeks.

He was very nice, honest, and I liked him. So often you feel rushed by Dr.'s and to know I was squeezed in today and he still took the time to talk me through everything, I feel very good with where we are.
I just hope I don't need to be hospitalized but he told me not to try to suffer through it, I'll just make it worse. He said to come in, get admitted, take the IV fluids for a few days and then go home.

So I'm crossing my fingers that I don't have to make that call.
