Newest "Moms to Be" Thread

I'm glad it seems like you went to a very good doctor, and here's hoping that you are pain free for the next 17 weeks!

Thanks! :grouphug:

I hope your next 25 weeks go a lot more smoothly than your first 15! You've had a rough time of it, too! pixiedust:

I just found out in church this morning that my half brothers' half sister on their mother's side (confused yet-my father had 2 sons with his first wife, then she had a daughter with her 2nd husband-I go to church with the 2nd husband's sisters) was just told that her baby has downs. She is a year or two younger than me, and I think she is all to pieces right now. I don't know how far along she is-found out when one of my brothers came for Christmas that she was expecting too. My other brother's son has Cystic Fibrosis. I never cared for my father's ex, but I do feel for her that 2 of her grandchildren have serious disabilities.

Was the result from an amnio or a quad screening? I heard the quad screenings are notoriously inaccurate. My mom had that test come back saying my sister would have downs and she is perfectly normal.

Had our 2nd doctors appointment today and heard the heartbeat so we are excited now! Yay!

I don't know any details. My brothers grew up out of state with their mother, and I've only met their other sister a handful of times as a kid. I'm hoping her aunts know more at church next Sunday.

I'm sorry everyone is still so sick! I had pneumonia when I found out for sure I was pregnant with ds11. I had taken 3 preg. tests, and all were negative. I had bronchitis, that became pleuracy and pneumonia. When I was admitted to the hospital, I told the nurse I wouldn't take any pain meds until they did a blood test. I never did get any meds:scared: . It was worth it, though. All the kids and half the teachers at school are sick. Both of my kids had subs today, and several teachers were out on my hall. I found out at least one of my students has the flu, and a girl passed out in my Calculus class today. I helped get her to the office, and now I'm worried about what she may have. If I don't catch anything beyond my sinus infection I'll be lucky.

hi all!
have not caught up on your posts...but wanted to share our news.
Tessa Brianne arrived on Friday, January 30th at 4:11 PM. It was the most wonderful Labor and Delivery ... she is an absolute delite!
Chaos has reigned at home, since we came home Sunday night...between the five of us there has been one trip to the hospital, two 102 fevers, a cold, two coughs and a bout of the stomach flu. whew. makes me tired to write it, much less live it with a newborn.
Somehow, thru is all we are all happy and Tessa is thriving.
Thank you to all of you for journeying thru this pregnancy with me - and giving me a place to talk about things when I was chained to the couch ;)
Tessa was born 7 lb 15 oz and 21.5 inches long...only a 3 hour stint at the hospital til she was born!

:cheer2: Congratulations! And thanks for squeezing in an update to us with everything else going on in your house!:cheer2:

Thanks... I'm actually very okay with everything he said.

He said that the ER Dr. should specialize in doing his own job, not the surgeons :rotfl:. He asked me wha the ER Dr.'s said and I told him and he just shook his head and said "No." and walked me through everything.
He said IF the stones move into my cystic duct, it can be treated ways other than surgery. Surgery is a last resort option until I am at least 32 weeks.
I think we talked for a good 25 minutes, he didn't act like he was hurried at all which I LOVED about him. He was very honest with me and said that he had done the surgery on pregnant women before but he wanted me to stop and think about the scenario.

My gallbladder isn't going to kill me. It's going to make things very, very uncomfortable possibly for the next 17 weeks, but do I want to risk my baby's life for my discomfort?
No.
So I'll wait until there is no doubt that baby Lucas can make it if I were to go into pre-term labor and they can't stop it. Which he said is about 32 weeks.

He was very nice, honest, and I liked him. So often you feel rushed by Dr.'s and to know I was squeezed in today and he still took the time to talk me through everything, I feel very good with where we are.
I just hope I don't need to be hospitalized but he told me not to try to suffer through it, I'll just make it worse. He said to come in, get admitted, take the IV fluids for a few days and then go home.

So I'm crossing my fingers that I don't have to make that call.

I'm sorry you still have to deal with this, but very glad to hear you didn't feel rushed with the Dr. I hope the next 17 weeks is as pain-free as possible and your next hospital trip is not until then.

Ann, Wishing you all the best today!!!

Ann, Wishing you all the best today!!!

Thanks Lauren, you take care of yourself too and get some rest. DS let me get about 5 hours last night:faint: , so once again I am pooped and dont know if we will get a nap in due to my appointment.

 to all of you who need them! Lots going on around our little corner of the DIS boards! But even outside the boards it seems like everyone is sick! (I have to admit that I have been lucky so far). Prayers to Piecey and Harleyquinn especially!

:cheer2: :cheer2: Welcome Baby Tessa!! And well done bkreitzel!!:cheer2: :cheer2:

DD has a followup Dr.'s appt. about her ears today-I'm glad that she has the appt. because its seems that her cold is coming back AGAIN!! This will be the third time in about a month. Of course it doesn't help that our temps are so up and down! We were actually under a freeze warning last night and that never happens in our county as we are surrounded on three sides by water!

My student that passed out yesterday went to an idiot dr here in town. I could tell you horror stories on this man. She came in crying this morning because he told her he "thinks" she has a brain tumor! You don't do that to an 18 yr old kid! Of course, I had a student a few years ago who did have a tumor (she is ok-it was a 40lb freak of nature kind of tumor in her stomach that was removed by a team of researchers) and he told her she was constipated! I also know of 2 people who had a broken bone that he said weren't broken. One was my friend who walked on her broken foot for 2 wks before going somewhere else and finding out it was broken. One was a neighbor who fell off a ladder and was told his leg wasn't broken, but a shard broke off and went to his heart and killed him! :sad1:
