Ohh. They told me it wouldn't be done laproscopically? Maybe they meant while I was pregnant?
They told me 1-2 weeks recovery.
I bet I got it confused with surgery while I was pregnant, though.
Phew. That relieves me a bit. I can deal with my MIL that long.
Nope, because I'll receive benefits "earned" through my 3 month maternity leave... which means I'll have 'worked' the majority of the year (I'd be quitting in September, assuming Lucas doesn't come early which seems unlikely). The only thing "accured" is vacation leave so they might ask for a few days back but I doubt I'll actually be able to take both weeks.. so I'll just start taking an hour here or there of sick leave for my Dr's visits.

And my personal days.
And a week's vacation and let them pay me whatever vacation I've got.. which I'd say will be a few days.
I don't think they'd make me pay it back if I took it all, though. Who knows?
Disney Ron,
Workmans Comp? I don't even know what that is, really. I thought that was if you were injured on the job?
My maternity leave is a company "perk" to allow "primary caregivers" to "bond with their new baby" (quoted from the HR paperwork

).. It's 100% employer paid. A pretty awesome benefit, if you ask me!
I'm definitely excited to get the opportunity to stay home with him but more importantly FOCUS ON SCHOOL! I've been working to support myself (tuition/bills/car/school and occassional vacation

) since before I graduated high school and as a result, I've never been able to focus on school. I needed the job to pay the tuition so the job came first.
This will allow me to buckle down and finish my degree!!
Also, we figured up after daycare costs, pre-taxes and bonus, I'd make $105/week.
And I drive 30 miles one way to get there... so wear and tear on the car, the gas, the stress, etc. Wasn't worth it.
I'll get to stay home, take care of Lucas, finish school and work on the new house.

Soo excited the decision is made!
