Newest "Moms to Be" Thread

Mikalah backs me up on this! :lmao:

Yeah she does. Her biggest fear.. Mommy flushing one of her babies away. :rotfl2:

I just got off the phone with my mom, and we were discussing the kids being with us when I deliver.. She was actually for it! I was so surprised. She is very old fashioned, and doesnt really get that my kids are very involved with the pregnancy, and very interested in what is happening and stuff. But she is coming around!

She lives about 3 hours away, and right now.... the plan is to drop the kids at the inlaws, or just take them to the hospital with us.. Depending on what time it is, and what is going on. Then she will drive up and take over kid duty. That way if one of them decides they dont want to be in the room anymore, or if they need something, she is there to take care of them. After the babies are born, she is going to take the kids for a few days and stay at a hotel nearby.

Im getting EXCITED!! :cool1: :cool1:

Oh that is an awesome plan! They'll be so excited to get to hang out at a hotel, too! :cool1:

Yay for your mom!

I have a question for everybody. Who LOVES and I mean LOVES their doctor so much, that you would schedule induction just so they would deliver you?

Oh me, me, me!!!! I love my doctor. She used to be a Labor and Delivery nurse and got so tired of how the doctors behaved and treated patients that she went to med school and is now the leading doctor in my area. All the nurses at the hospital LOVE her. I would not deliver without her and her policy is that she delivers ALL her babies...

She is literally the best doctor I have ever had...

So who is getting epidurals????? Sign me up!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ann

Amen....me absolutely...I had it last time and still had "hot spots of pain/discomfort" and will have it this time....would not do it without....but I about passed out when they put it in....that made me queasy...

Michelle

Different people have different pain thresholds.. I had stadol with my first. 3 rounds of the stuff... and by the time they gave me the third shot, I was SCREAMING for my epi. It works less and less with each shot.

I had the same thing...did 3 rounds of Stadol also...then it was time to epi or not...and I said absolutely...because the stadol really only "took the edge off" for me. The epidural was much more relaxing as there was significantly more relief. But the Stadol allowed me to keep progressing in labor...sometimes the epi can stall you out. Oh! And another thing...I guess each Stadol only lasts about an hour...I did not realize that...so it faded away pretty quickly....

Went to the OB office this AM as I was having a bit of spotting. Had
another u/s -- and, well, there's two!!!!!! I'm a bit freaked out. I
was high risk before, my risk just went through the roof.

Can I really do this? Holy cr@p!

Also the office I'm seeing told me that their office policy on
multiples is c-section only. Is this normal? I mean (when I thought
there was only 1) barring medical need for a c-section, I had wanted a
normal ******l delivery, should I look around for another care provider?

I'm still in shock.

So I haven't talked about ms for a while, so I thought I would update you.

I've been doing better. It's still not perfect and most evenings I still have issues, but it's getting later and later at night. So now I can just go to bed a little early. I feel just about normal during the day.

So I hope I'll be doing really well by Feb 1st when storytime starts up again and I have to bounce around with the babies on Monday nights. Of course, I'm lucky because everyone can clearly recall pregnancy symptoms in that group.

So how's everyone else doing?
And I do think you should start a 2009 New Baby thread, cuz come July I really will want to talk to all of you who will be leaving us soon!

OMG!!! Was that your first ultrasound?

I do think it is normal for some offices to have that policy, but if you aren't comfortable with it--find someone else!!

I had an u/s last week that did not show much at all. Since the doc couldn't get a good look last week, she sent me for beta HCG draws to see if the numbers looked good for a viable pg. I had half convinced myself that maybe there wouldn't be a baby after all. And now this. I'm still in shock.

Maybe I'll try calling a few other offices, see if they'll share their office policies to a non or not yet patient.

Oh!! Now I remember! Sorry about that. I've been terribly forgetful the last few days!

Other offices should definitely be able to tell you the twin/c section policy. Your current office might even be able to connect you with one. Of course that would be a bit akward, but :p

:goodvibes From one twin mommy to another... CONGRATULATIONS!!! :cool1:

When I found out.. I CRIED. FOR DAYS. Hysterically.

Deep breath. It will be OKAY. You CAN do this, I promise. I have found that joining a twins forum was really helpful for me.. They are going through the same things, at the same time. Check out Twins magazine.com They are great there!

I know exactly how you feel, and I can tell you that I didn calm down and really accept that I was having twins until just recently. It IS scary!!

As for delivery.. no. As long as your babies are healthy, and head down, you shouldnt be forced into a c-section. I just had a long talk with my doc about to expect with delivery... She said that I dont even have to have an epi if I dont want one, they recommend it.. AND I can deliver in a regular room. I dont HAVE to go to the OR.

Okay. if you have ANY questions, let me know!! I would be glad to help you with anything! it WILL be okay! :grouphug:

Wow....you went from not seeing anything to seeing double!!!:rotfl2: Congratulations...that is wonderful news!!! How good is your doctor's office with high-risk pregnancies? You might want to find someone who will listen to your birth wishes (especially after your son was born so early!).

So very happy for you!:goodvibes

Congratulations! I know it's not what you're expecting, but so what? Two is great! You can do it!

I don't know what my doctor's policy is on multiples, but as far as I know in the medical world it's as staley says, as long as the babes are in the right position to be delivered (not sideways or anything like that) you shouldn't have to have a c-section.

How exciting!!! Congrats!
