Newest "Moms to Be" Thread

Hi everyone, I just wanted to jumo in as I just got a BFP two days ago. I am still in a bit of shock as I just went off the pill last month so this is my first month off. Anyway, my DR appointment is not until 8 weeks which is Feb 20th. So according to the charts online - I am due October 2nd. It is baby #2. My other child will be 5 next month.

Congratulations!!

Went to the OB office this AM as I was having a bit of spotting. Had
another u/s -- and, well, there's two!!!!!! I'm a bit freaked out. I
was high risk before, my risk just went through the roof.

Can I really do this? Holy cr@p!

Also the office I'm seeing told me that their office policy on
multiples is c-section only. Is this normal? I mean (when I thought
there was only 1) barring medical need for a c-section, I had wanted a
normal ******l delivery, should I look around for another care provider?

I'm still in shock.

OMG!! Congrats!

I'm with everyone else.. dig out the phone book and start making some calls. Do you know anyone with twins? Might be a good place to start! :thumbsup2

Welcome and congratulations!!!:cheer2:

Hey Jen! How's life with your little man? :goodvibes

Evan is a great little boy. I can't believe he is 4 months already. He almost never cries unless he wants something, and is a great sleeper.

Ethan on the other hand is a little terror!:p

Emma is doing great in kindergarten.:hyper:

I'm doing the stay at home thing and started working out at the gym. Baby weight is off, now I've got some "other" weight to loose.:faint:

omg... heartburn is kicking my BUTT this morning.

tums just aren't doing it!

Zantac, baby.

There is this commercial for heartburn, and it has this little dancing flame on it. We were watching this commercial.. and I looked at my husband... HEY! Thats the guy that keeps trying to crawl out of my throat!:rotfl2: I feel like I could spit flames half the time. :lmao:

Is he 4 months already? Where does the time go? Do you have any pics?

Congrats on the baby weight! That's always my problem too...the "other" weight..that which came upon my body when I quit smoking and my metabolism did a 180!:rotfl2:

Alright.

I'm off to Wal Mart.

I shall return armed with Zantac.

Wish me luck. :rotfl2:

...nevermind. I have that stuff.
Not working! Thats what I have for acid reflux.. generic, which is why I didn't recognize the name.

...I'll return with ROLAIDS!

Valerie - Congrats!!! Is there a Mothers Of Multiples group in your area? Those local mommies might be able to recommend a great OB for you. Def. look for someone in line w/ your way of thinking!!

I have had luck w/ Mylanta ... DH is so grossed out b/ I bought my own bottle and just drink from it at night - so ladylike!!!:rotfl2:

This is probably TMI but all of the sudden I have a problem that didnt occur w/ the other two ... I have hemorrhoids. This is too much!!! So I looked it up today and it says it gets worse w/ labor. Great ..........

Can I borrow some of Lisa's excitement for this birth?:cheer2:

I am getting overwhelmed with helpfullness right now; which is a nice feeling but again, overwhelming. Looks like we will be having meals delivered every other weekday thru February 22nd courtesy of my other Mommy friends making out a schedule! Sometimes it is so hard to say Yes, even when you want to, it just feels weird when you are the one used to taking care of other people. I started the Meals for Moms a couple years ago and could never understand people's reluctance ... now I get it!!!!

oh. i forgot to tell the twin mommies... i remember back when I had DD1 there was a nice section in the BABY BARGAINS book about stuff you could order or receive for free if you had twins! My cousin was having twins at the same time, which i why I remember!! Not sure if it is still in there but it might be worth checking out.

This is the most "wrong" symptom of pregnancy. 9 months of what we go through is bad enough, but add on hemorrhoids and....well, let's just say that labor ends and there are drugs if you need them....but hemorrhoids, that's just God's way of punishing us for Eve eating the apple!:lmao:

So I have an appt tomorrow morning with a new practice. One that the receptionist said did *not* have the same sort of rules that *all* multiples go c/s.

I mean I recognize that twins may still end up c/s, but that is a call to be made at that time, not now. I had a very traumatic birth experience with my son, I was hoping to have a non-traumatic one this go-round. I want my shot at the birth I want, even if it's only a slim shot.

I've got to have the self confidence to fire any providers that I don't like or don't inspire me confidence. So as long as I like this new practice (that comes highly recomended) -- I'll be calling to cancel with the other. :)

Good! I totally understand where you are coming from. I DONT want a C-section, and I DONT want to deliver in the OR. Unfortunately... its standard practice in some places. Thankfully I have an OB who will wait and see, and let me labor how I want. As long as all three of us are healthy! :thumbsup2

May the force be with you. :yoda:

OHmygoodness.

This heartburn has taken on a mind of it's own. It's actually been making me gag/dry heave for the past few hours.

I've now had this evil heartburn since 10:30 this morning.

Doctor had to call something in for me. Zantac, Tums, Rolaids.. none can defeat this stuff. Let us pray this prescription, that I just now got because the pharmacy was a mad house!, works... :faint:

In the good news.. while I was walking around Wal Mart (we needed a few groceries so I sprinted for the Rolaids, bought them, took one, and did grocery shopping) I found this in the center aisle, clearanced out for $70!

I remembered you guys saying a swing was good, so I had DH grab it.
They had the little one, for $50, but I got the bigger one because it plugs in!

little one:

...so I'm assuming they much be coming out with a new pattern or something for the new year? Either way, I'm happy!

:thumbsup2 Awesome. The little one is for travel.. Its great if you are going to be taking baby lots of places.... Grandmas house and such, but for home, a full sized one is best! Plugging in is great!! I had a swing that you had to wind up with my first. :faint: I HATED that thing. As soon as he would fall asleep, and I would start to doze.. the darn thing would stop, and he would start to cry.
