Newest "Moms to Be" Thread

Definitely keep the pictures coming, guys!! Too cute, the both of them!

Vent ahead:headache:

The morning started off with me vomiting again. I was almost late for work I was so sick. Then a car turned in front of us and we almost wrecked. The kids heard some words they shouldn't have from their mama:rolleyes1

I get to work, and would you guys believe my boss is still trying to talk me into teaching summer school in June! There are only 4 of us in the math dept, and I'm dept head. The other female teacher has said she'd like to do it. The other 2 members are coaches. One is not interested (and I think is looking for another job), and the other one is going to be in school 3 hrs away working on his masters in June. The principal told me today he had to have more than one teacher. I told him to contact the middle school and ask them, but I'm not available! If only he knew that my resume is sitting on my desk right now, and I'm working on letters to go with it this week!

State tests are coming up, and after being on my feet teaching all day, I'm staying an hour after work 2 days a week to tutor. The counselor called me in today and told me that she had told some students who failed last year that they could get out of class and come to me during my planning pd for extra help! Did I mention I'm in grad school and 28 wks pregnant-did anyone think of that when they decided I'd do all this extra work?:headache:

I called the hospital AGAIN today, and they told me that my dr still hadn't set up my tests. One of my coworkers is related to my dr's nurse, so I asked her to check into it for me. She called the nurse, and was told that my tests were set up last week for this Friday. The nurse called the hospital to see what was going on, and they told her that they couldn't release any information to me, only to my dr! So my tests have been scheduled the whole time I've been playing phone tag, and instead of telling me the hospital lied to me! So now I have a lot of faith in them! And they can't start my tests until 9, and they won't be over until after 12, and I have to fast from the night before until they are through. Dd9's school program is at 1, so I just hope I have enough time to get something to eat before then. After no food and 4 blood draws, I'm sure I'll be in a really good mood!:headache: :headache: :headache:

And the kids at school at out of control!!!!!! After dealing with them all day, MY kids come in fighting. I just sent them to their rooms when we got home-I can't deal with anymore today!

OK, vent over. Things have to get better, right?

december..bring something to eat with you when you do your three hour test. THats what I did for my 3 hr test., so i would make it to drive somewhere to get some real food (didn;t want to pass out and wreck on te way to get food) so i think it would work for you to bring some food for you to eat.

Thanks, I think I'll bring at least a granola bar or something.

Was yours bad? I've been looking online, and I've read about people getting really sick and passing out. Luckily, dh works in town, too. So if I can't drive I can call him to pick me up. I think I may do that anyway, and drive to dd9's play together.

I've calmed down now, but I'm really hoping tomorrow is a better day. One problem is that my head has been hurting since I got up this morning, and nothing seems to help (nothing I'm allowed to take anyway). As soon as I get my NCIS fix, I'm going to bed! Maybe that will help.

no mine was not that bad. I ended up passing the 3 hr test, so i am thinking that if you feel ok after taking the test, then you probably do not have gd...but of course I am not an expert....just my opinion after going through it. And i think them keeping on giving you a sugared drink helps you get through all the tests. I don't know about you, but I bruise soo easy and I was worried about being a walking bruise. The nurse taking the blood that time told me to hold my arm out straight when giving blood and have them wrap gauze around the area after giving blood. It puts lots of pressure on the spot and will not bruise and I didn;t bruise at all!

Hope all goes well. Thats a good idea for your husband to pick you up cause you never know how you will be feeling. Take a granola bar and maybe he can bring you food when he picks you up!

... because when we were out to dinner Saturday night we were talking about their vow renewal in 2011. They're renting a house on the beach and hiring a wedding planner, making a really big deal out of it, etc.... and I mentioned that Lucas could be their ring bearer. Her and dad just stared at me blankly so I said "or not." :confused3

Well, it apparently just hit her now what I meant when I said that. She called me crying and said "Your dad and I were just talking about it and really realized what you meant when you said Lucas could be our ring bearer and that would just be so neat!"

Crazy, hormonal grandmama-to-be. :rotfl:

Heh, crazy grandmas.

I haven't posted here in awhile, although I still do read the posts. I had my big ultrasound today, and it's a GIRL! I was so prepared for it to be a boy that I about fell off the table! I'm still in shock but excited. So please add it to the list. More importantly, everything looks and measures great.

I think we're going to order furniture this weekend. I'm still debating about the rocker/glider. I know we want one, but I don't know if we want a $200 one or a $600 one or a used one. My friend raves about the $600 one (by Best chairs http://www.bestchairs.com/bcpublic/home.do?catalogType=JU), but honestly I can't see using a glider/rocker after the babies are young. Personally, I think they're pretty ugly unless you get the armchair ones. I'm pretty sure most midnight feedings will be done on the couch in front of the TV or in bed anyway. Ugh, what to do what to do.

Ohh.. July's first girl! I am starting to wonder if it is going to be like June where they're all girls but my boy.. and now all boys but your girl, maybe? :lovestruc :thumbsup2

Congrats, thats so exciting!!! :cloud9:

As for a glider.. I got one off of Target.
I paid $115, it had great reviews.. etc.
I just couldn't see paying that much (over $200) for something I wasn't sure I would use.

I like the armchair ones, though.... I don't think my room is big enough for something like that!

Finnegan Martin (Finn) was born on 2/18 at 8:17 am. He was 7 lbs, 3 oz and 20 inches long. He is such a joy and a pleasure!!!! He is completely adored by his big sister Cameran (2) and his big brother PJ (4) - they can't get over him and are always willing to help out. PJ has decided that it is his job to tell me that the baby is hungry every time her hears him cry and my daughter has been trying to nurse him!!!!!!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Aww! Congratulations! I am loving the baby pictures tonight.

I ended up passing the 3 hr test, so i am thinking that if you feel ok after taking the test, then you probably do not have gd

I can vouch that this is NOT true. Don't mean to burst any bubbles, but I felt great after my 3 hour and still failed...I didn't fail by much, so my GD is diet controlled.
I tell you what though, about 4 hours after my test, I had the biggest sugar drop. I got shaky and I had to eat something sweet quick. You'd think after that nasty glucola that I wouldn't need sugar for awhile, but it was definitely low that evening. And I don't think that had anything to do with having GD, I think I just didn't eat enough afterwards. I ate a cupcake and started to feel better within a few minutes.

But I've heard of MANY women failing the one hour and passing the three hour. Makes you wonder why they don't just do a three hour to begin with. It causes unnecessary worrying to hear you failed the one hour.

december, I hope you pass. I don't think you'll get sick. The drink is sweeter than the 1 hour and it was hard to get down, but it stayed down. I felt a little nauseous after about one hour, but it went away pretty quick. Good luck!

This is the glider we got as a shower gift from DS godparents. I do love it, but like you said alot of my feeding are done in the rocker recliner in the living room.
