Although I will be at Disney for 10 nights, I have two newbies coming with us from Friday, September 6 and departing the morning of Monday, September 9. On Friday, we are just hanging by pool, touring the monorail resorts, getting drinks, eating, etc. My friend works nights and then has a 6 am flight on Friday so they don't want to do the parks.

Anyway, they are visiting MK and Epcot.
I thought it would be worse to be in MK on a Saturday but now reading the thread about F&W on a Saturday has me worried. Is it still bad the beginning of September?

For Saturday, September 7, I have us RD Epcot, doing our FPs and making sure we are over at the countries by 11 am opening. We will tour the countries (it will be my bff-52 and her mom-82, who has a ECV, along with my mom-73 and me-52) and planned on heading back for rest middle of the day.

For the evening, we have the Rose & Crown Pub & Dining Room Illuminations Dining Package. I thought this would be a good way for them to see Illuminations without our having to stake a spot and we all enjoy having drinks with dinner.

My FPs are made. Saturday for Epcot/Sunday for MK (I thought it would be worse to be at MK on a Saturday).

I should seriously consider for my September 7-8 park days with newbies to change my plans....Saturday MK and Sunday Epcot?

I just went on and was able to the get Illuminations dinner on Sunday, September 8 too. So I have both days, Saturday, September 7 and Sunday, September 8 booked for Illuminations dinner and will just cancel one but my FPs will not be so great any longer.

Thank you.

Just keep your FPs and park plans as they are. For adults, there’s no reason to think they have to go to MK first.

When it comes to F&W, Friday night-Sun night are all busy, so it's really not going to make that much difference. Keep your plans the way they are, but make sure your newbies are prepared for a VERY crowded World Showcase.

I agree, keep the plans. We were there last September ( early to mid-month ) and did one of our days on Saturday. That time of year is a bit slower overall ( at least it was in the past ) so the weekend wasn't horrible. It was a bit busier than when we had gone mid-week but we didn't have more than 2 or 3 people in front of us when ordering.

Thank you all so much. Will cancel my second Illuminations dinner tomorrow when I go into work.

Thanks.

Just keep in mind that Epcot may have quite a few adults who have imbibed too much alcohol in Epcot on a Saturday during F&W (at least that was my family's experience a number of years back)... perhaps things have changed...

Thank you, although this may be my bff and me LOL, well not really, okay a little.

Saturday works much better for our plans on September 7. I plan on having us at the countries for 11:00 am when they open. When we go back in the evening, depending on how much time we have, we will do a little more wandering around or go right to our Rose and Crown Illuminations dinner.

Thank you all again. Going to cancel the Sunday Illuminations dinner on September 8 and keep my September 7.
