I am a newbie to the DIS forum and have really enjoyed reading comments and suggestions and so far have learned quite a bit.

I have cruised on Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Norwegian and now have booked my first Disney Cruise on Disney Wonder, 8/31/03.

I am taking my 4 year old grandaughter (her 2nd cruise, lst on Carnival). We are also going to spend 2 days at WDW after the cruise. I wish we could have spent the 2 days prior to the cruise but frequent flyer mile flights were only available after the cruise.

Anyway this cruise is my gift to her, she keeps asking me to take her on the "cinderalla" ship....so what should we not miss and any more tips for cruising as a single grandmother and grandaughter??

Welcome to the DIS!!

My most humble advice would be, let her call the shots....
there is NO way you'll do it all or see it all. You won't even scratch the surface. Find out what SHE wants to do and then plan that way. And if in the middle of the day she says she'd rather stay in the pool instead of doing something you had "planned" then be flexible!!

I hope you have a WONDERful time! :)

To echo my DISBoard friends - Welcome!!!!

Ohiominnie said it all, let your GD call the shots. There is just sooo very much to do there onboard and you will both have a wonderful time if you remember to relax and just enjoy your time together during the activites!

I don't know who I envy more - your GD or you for having her company with you! I'm not a GM but someday.........

Best wishes for calm seas, clear skies and lots of memories!

First and Foremost - Welcome to the DIS!

I think it is wonderful that you are treating your Granddaughter to a cruise.

My best piece of advise - check out Barb & Tony's pages

Click here for Barb & Tony's pages

Check out both the adult and kids navigators to see what there is to do. Talk to your Granddaughter and find out what she would like.

Encourage her to go to the club - most kids have a blast - and it will give you some private adult time to go to the spa or the pool or whatever.

As others have stated have a plan, but don't feel you have to follow it to the letter. The key is to enjoy!

One - must see - Disney Dreams! Don't miss it! They usually have an afternoon performance so even little ones like your 4-year old get a chance.
