Hi Everyone one! I am new to these boards and am having a blast reading all the tips. Our family has Disney reservations for June 6th-13. We did the buy 4-get 3 nights free. Plus we added the dining plan. There are 5 of us, mom & dad kids 13, 11 and 9.

My question is... I received a post card in the mail today for kids 3-9 are free (room, park tickets and dining) for 5-22 thur 6-12. Am I eligible for that? Which way would be the less expensive deal?

Plus, we booked thru a travel agent which I have never done before. This is our 4th trip to Disney and I've always done it myself. Anyway, I called Disney to ask the above question and they said that I had to have the travel agent call since she booked it. That just doesn't seem to make sense to me.

Thanks for your help!

Robin

If the travel agent booked it, they control it. I wouldn't hesitate to take that back to the travel agent and ask them. They are your "agent".

Your travel agent controls your reservation, and only they can make any changes. But they are working for you so you need to just call them and tell them what you told us here. You got a postcard and want to know if you qualify and which rate would be a better deal. Any good agent should take care of that right away for you and get you answers. Call your agent right away!

In the mean time I am moving this to the Codes and Rates Forum.

Well, the way I figure it, since you have only one who would qualify, that would only save you around $325, since park tickets for 8 days is around $209and dining plan for that age is $10.99 plus tax each day. Your room even at the values would run $115-$140 per room per night and at a value resort you would need two rooms, so you would save at least $690 plus tax using the 4/3 deal. If you were staying in a moderate or higher resort that sleeps five you would still certainly save more than the tickets and dining on one child.

Hope that helps. :)

Thank you for replying. I did get ahold of my travel agent and she called disney. We are better off keeping the 4/3 deal. It's a $400+difference. We are staying at POR.

I've seen that PIN code deal. The 4/3 deal worked much better for my clients too.

A. The kids are not charged for the room at Disney, so that part is not a "deal".

B. The child basic dining plan is only $10.99 per night of stay. Again not a huge savings unless you have lots of kids.

C. The free basic pass is definitely the best part of this deal, but is not always as good as three free room nights/passes at your resort. Depends on the number of children and what resort discount/free nights deal you already have. It's a savings off a normal MYW package, but if you already have a promo or PIN you really have to price both out to see which saves you more.
