Add us to the number of members who joined just under the wire to get in on the F&F deal. Upon doing so I asked our guide, Mario, if it was true that the dining plan was not available until April 1. We were really anxious to book a reservation! He said "no" that members were already using it and loving it. So I asked "if we were to go in March should we be ok". He said yes. So we proceeded to book a 2br for 8 guests in March. Everyone booked their air, made plans, etc. I called back later to discuss park tickets & the dining plan & was promptly told by member services that it wasn't available until April. Aaarrgh!

So I called Mario back & he was more than apologetic & promised to "fix" the problem. He took total responsibility for the error, which impressed me, however that doesn't feed the family. For anyone who has not used the plan & who enjoys the Disney cuisine, the bargain is beyond compare. It's almost not worth going without it. As of today we were asked about the possibility of changing our dates if Disney were to foot the bill for changing the airfare. They are still "working on" a way to resolve the dining plan issue.

Does anyone have any advice? :grouphug:

Just keep working on it. I'm betting you strike out as the program isn't available until 1 April. No way they will pay for air changes. And I'm sure you know the promises of a sales person, well intentioned or otherwise, is not a legal obligation. I question whether the plan has as much benefit for most people as you think it does but you know your habits and how it'll work for you better. Assuming you end up with an impasse, as I'm guessing, you may want to ask for a dining credit and/or one day passes. Those things are likely doable. Good luck and let us know what happens.

We had the same thoughts re: dining passes and tickets. Surprisingly, the airfare thing was Disney's suggestion, but frankly I don't feel like being bothered with all those changes & we're talking about 8 people, not all of whom can change. It will be interesting to see what happens. We're within the 10 day cancellation of contract period and let's face it--Disney could really do whatever they wanted with this. Thanks for your advice--will let the DIS know what happens.
