newbie--incentive questions

ok i'm a newbie who just got back from disney at 1 am this morning...we are considering the DVC but have a couple questions....our incentives of matching points and incentive cash from disney will expire tuesday evening...does disney really want customers to buy and would they extend incentives like car dealers, or basically if we say no or we aren't sure on tuesday will they just let us go by the wayside? would the incentives still be available if we called them in a couple of months and said we wanted to buy? or are they really gone on tuesday?
we have been to disney the last 3 years in a row. usually, however, we travel when DH has a conference there and the kids and i tag along...but i got used to being able to stay at the deluxe resorts when this time we stayed at Caribbean Beach, so we are thinking of the DVC but aren't sure about the initial cost. any thoughts, opinions would be helpful

Hi and welcome to the DIS! Not knowing what you were exactly offered, I can say that typically the initial offer after a first DVC tour will be including extra incentive. That will not be extended again down the road.

That being said, I waited several years before buying after my initial tour, and to this day that is actually my only regret.

Unfortunately, the current incentive ends at the close of business on Monday 2/18 and will not be extended. We also waited about 4 years after an initial tour before we bought in and our only regret has been that we waited that long!
