If I book room only using a AAA discount (through aaa - I understand you can't do a pkg w/aaa discount through cro) and later decide to add a package with tickets and dining can they simply add or do they have to completly rebook? If they have to rebook and the aaa discount is no longer available you'd lose your room discount as part of the package correct? That seems to be my impression with the various posts regarding the two different booking groups at Disney. Today I spoke to a TA who told me that was how it worked, but then again she told me that magical express only moved luggage- we still had to book and pay for our own transfers!!!!!

I've got room only with CRO now with AAA discount. SHould I simply make a MYW Package reservation with aaa directly now? Will DIsney let you do that?? DOn't they know from your 'bio info" that you've already got something booked for the exact same dates?? DO they care?? Can I switch to my DH's name for the new reservation? thanking all in advance.

From what I understand, you would not be able to add on the tickets and dining later through CRO.

What I would do is go ahead and make a reservation with a AAA travel agent and get the room, tickets & dining package so you know the AAA room discount is included in there. Just make sure that the quote they give you is less than if you book at disneyworld.com - ours was a $268 difference.

You'll have to make a $200 deposit, but full payment isn't due until 45 days prior to arrival. Then after you're sure you have the package confirmed, call CRO to cancel the room only; if you paid a deposit yet, that would be credited back to you. You can always change the AAA package back to a room only, just do it before the 45 days prior.

You can have several reservations, so they won't care that you're booking a package with AAA.

Hope this helps...

Betsy's right. Just book directly through AAA TA, you can book the whole package with them, and it's done. I went on disneyworld.com and put in my dates and package info., to compare that quote with the one from AAA. I saved $200 through AAA, I'll take it.

When you book with AAA, will they give you the discounted value rate for the entire stay like CRO will? Our stay begins on the last 4 days of value season and continues into regular season. If you book with an AAA agent directly, will they be able to give you the lower value rate for the whole stay?

Also, my room-only reservationist said megical express was part of staying at a WDW resort, and included luggage and people transfer. I called back and talked to another CM and he said the same thing.

Yes, if you go through AAA you would get the value rate for the entire stay since you would be checking in on a date that's value season.

You're correct about Magical Express - it starts May 5 for guests staying at a WDW resort after that date and continues until at least the end of the 50th celebration, and you have to let your AAA agent know what your flights are (if you book separately not by them) so they have your info.

Hope this helps!
