New Yorkers Beware...Mickey is coming to town! June 17th, 2012 Canada Cruise

Hi! What did you think about your Alaska cruise? Did you have enough time in the ports? I am thinking about moving our Fantasy one in Aug to something else. Looking forward to meeting everyone in NY.

It was magical!! every thing was soo beautiful!! so much untouched land..fresh air!!!
i was walking on a path and a big black bear walked onto my path about 15 feet away..:scared1: the guard said they try to train the bears to stay off the people paths..i tld him its not working!!! but as long as you dnt bother them, and dnt scar them they will go there merry way...many beautiful eagles, otters, much wild life...it was great..
we all have to set a time on the cruise to meet...
i never have enough time in the ports,,there is soo much to see, but it was enough to see all the things i would want to see again the next time i go back..my friends were late coming back from an excursion but cuz it was a disney excursion they held the ship at port (late) untill they returned..i was glad about that!!

Thanks for the Alaska info. Sounds like you had a great time.

Just booked us 4 nights at the Radisson Martinique on Broadway before the cruise to sightsee! Will probably look at Priceline/Hotwire as we get closer, but for now, it was the best rate I had found.

Getting really excited for a cruise that is still too far away! :-)

Has anyone gone on a cruise before with kids? I have a son(10) and daughter(15) who will be with me and my husband on the boat. I was wondering what activities that there are for them and if they will enjoy them.

Went with my then 9 year old daughter and 18 year old daughter and both loved it. I don't know what there is for teens as oldest was technically an adult, but my younger daughter LOVED the clubs. That's the only place she wanted to be. She came out for dinner and the nightly show, but other than that, she was happy to be in the kids club the entire time. Whatever they do in there, it's a hit...:rotfl:

You have picked the right cruise line! Have been cruising disney since my son was 10 (he is 15 now) and he has never once uttered the words bored, in fact I have to make appointments him to come hang with me during our cruises :rotfl: LOL We even did a 14 transatlantic and had 6 days at sea... he was active in the clubs and happy the whole time (he was 13 then).

It is one of the reasons I choose Disney again and again, despite a higher cost. I am willing to pay for the quality and I have not been dissapointed. :thumbsup2

We have been on 3 previous cruises. At the times, our kids were 3 & 7, 8 & 12 and most recently 13 & 17.

Each time they had a TON to do! On this last cruise, we were actually woken up in our state room by the kids coming home when their clubs closed for the night (which was I think midnight and 2 AM respectively!).

If you look on the boards you can find the navigators for past cruises - these are the itineraries of activities.

The 10 year old will have activites in the Lab and the 15 year old will have activities (and more importantly be able to hang out) in the teens-only club.

I bet they will love it!

Do they make a ton of friends because i am afraid that they will be shy and wont make any.

My daughter did instantly.

I would send them right off the bat the first night/next day so that as all the kids form their "groups," they are there. That way everyone is wondering around finding friends at the same time.

If they wait until later, they may walk in and see people grouped up and feel like they are left out.

My kids made many friends while they were in their teens, they will have a blast!!

Hi June 17th Cruisers!:flower3:
I'm hopping over to here from another cruise trip board - seems we are going to be changing our cruise dates and instead of sailing in August, we're going to be sailing in JUNE:goodvibes!
So, HI THERE, we are the Herman Family, Laurie (me), DH Gideon, DD15 Eden, DS15 Gabi, DD15 Noa, and DS13 Nadav. That's how old they'll be next June, anyway! This is Nadav's special 13th birthday cruise. The kids were concerned that if we change our dates there won't be an FE group on the "new cruise", but I assured them that THAT'S not gonna' happen! So we're in for all the fun:dance3:!
Lots of great info on Halifax and Saint John - looking forward to the ports!
But mostly, looking forward to the sea days:cheer2:!
This is our FIRST CRUISE and we are psyched!!

Hi. I'm 15 and will be going on the cruise with my parents and my brother.

Hi Izzy, It's great that you posted to say hi! My son will be 16 on this cruise and he is disboard antisocial LOL :cool1:... good for you for saying hello!:thumbsup2

Maybe you will meet him in the teen club. I know you will love it, Evan has Been on 6 other disney cruises and he has loved all of them.

and ...WELCOME! Herman Family!:yay:

I wonder when Disney will post shore excursions? Anyone thought of what they might do in port?

For my kids, I think buying Canadian candy will be a big to do...

I'm anxious for this too! One of the ports has an awesome looking tug boat my daughter wants to try...don't remember offhand which one.. Bookmarked it on my other computer.

Hi there all - I am a veteran Disney fan, but first time on a Disney Cruise. My family wants to be sure to participate in the "fish extenders" (a new thing I had not known about) on this cruise. Can you tell me how to join in? How do I know how many to prepare for? Thanks for helping out a new girl! I am so excited for this cruise and feel all alone because the kids are not finding out about it until Christmas morning...so I have to share my excitement on this forum!

Tina
